For the second straight year Jay-Z, 50 Cent, and Diddy top Forbes’ second annual “Hip-Hop Cash Kings” list, but there is a new reigning king for 2008.
50 Cent usurped Jay-Z as the top earner with $150 million grossed in the last year.
The cornerstone of 50’s portfolio is his stake in VitaminWater’s
parent company Glaceau, which was brought for $4.1 billion by Coca-Cola.
The Queens native’s investments also include video games, G-Unit
clothing/records, and a pending partnership in South Africa with
billionaire mining baron Patrice Motsepe.
Jay-Z bows in at number 2 generating $82 million in earnings. (more…)

Word to Taco Bell: Don’t play with 50 Cent and don’t try to gain free publicity off of him.
Back in June when Taco Bell sent a disseminating letter to 50 Cent, asking him to help promote its Hip-Hop-themed “79-89-99 Cent Why Pay More” ad campaign by changing his name to “79 Cent,” “89 Cent” or “99 Cent.” 50 was clearly not pleased.
