Whoopi Goldberg Takes it to Kate Gosselin

If you watch The View you know there are some things that Whoopi Goldberg has very strong feelings about. One of them are reality tv moms exploiting their children. Kate Gosselin was a co-host on the show and Whoopi got at her about going to the house when it was Jon’s alloted custody time with the children.

Here the excerpt from their exchange:
“When you go in to a custody thing with someone you have your specific time and [they have] their specific time and you’re not supposed to walk on [that],” Goldberg began. “And I’m sorry that’s the law.”

Over interjections from co-host Sherri Shepherd and Gosselin herself, Goldberg shouted, “And you could have gone to jail!”

As the other co-hosts quieted, Goldberg repeated herself, looking straight at across the table at Gosselin, “You could have gone to jail, do you realize that?”

Gosselin responded, “I’ve learned my lesson and I have learned that it was not a good thing… I realized that I was wrong and it was his custody and will I do it again? No, but it doesn’t answer to me, like, a babysitter I’ve never met or approved of. And that bothers me.”

Despite her counterattack, Gosselin was unable to diffuse the tension set-up by Goldberg, who continued to play devil’s advocate for Kate’s estranged hubby.

“You don’t know what Jon likes and what he doesn’t. His attitude could be the same on something you feel is perfectly normal,” Goldberg said, referring to Kate’s evident dismay of Jon’s hiring a babysitter that she had never met.
Eventually, it was up to co-host Joy Behar, the resident comedian, to break up the potential catfight. Behar turned the conversation to Gosselin’s gain of public favor ever since the couple headed to Splitsville. source

The View was heated yesterday. Joy Behar wanted to point out just how ditzy Palin was for making fun of Biden’s age when he’s younger than McCain. Of course Elisabeth took exception to that but Barbara Walters took exception to her taking exception…..did ya follow that? Barbara Walters said to Elisabeth, “Every single day you never ever say, maybe there’s another point, so this is your chance, Tell us now why you think that Sarah Palin would make a very good President.”
Elisabeth’s response? “Tell me why Barack Obama is qualified to be President.”
