Chris Rock appeared on Oprah Winfrey’s show yesterday afternoon to promote his upcoming documentary, Good Hair. Solange was also a guest because she recently liberated herself of hair stress by shaving her head.

Here Solange is at a Samantha Thavasa press event in Japan with big sister Beyonce. She tried to dress the old baldie up. Does it look better to you? I know its a nightmare to anybody paying her to advertise their products. Contracts, especially tv contracts for actors/actresses have clauses that don’t permit the stars to cut or change their hair. This is an example of why they do it. I hire you one way, that’s the look I want. If you change your appearance, it might not help or benefit my brand.

Solange is definitely her own person. She has always had her own unique style whether you like it or not. I don’t like her hair, nothing about it. But…..I do respect the girl. She marches by the beat of her own drum.

Solange Looking For New Label Home

Just days after the announcement that Kelly Rowland was released from Columbia Records, comes the news that Geffen/Interscope wasn’t interested in keeping Solange on their music roster. The eclectic singer’s sophomore release ‘Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams’ has only sold around 138,000 units since its release in August of 2008 and Geffen/Interscope didn’t see the value in doing a new CD on her.

“Geffen did a one-off deal with Music World Entertainment for Solange and wasn’t interested in doing a new contract with her. People at the label really liked working with her because other than her infamous news outburst in Las Vegas, she was a constant professional. There were challenges dealing with her camp, but Solange was great to work with. One of the record labels that Knowles has been meeting with about signing his youngest daughter is Epic Records.
Incidentally, Epic Records is also the label that had initially approached Rowland about a new recording contract upon learning that she would be dissolving her management and recording relationship with Music World Entertainment/Columbia.

Solange Knowles broke her foot in Kansas City, Mo.,and still performed. She performed through what had to be a painful condition. She’s touring for her new release on Aug. 26 for the album, “SoL-AngeL and The Hadley St. Dreams.”
Her record label said a large piece of metal fell from the doorway and onto her foot as she went to take the stage in Kansas City Sunday. She has not cancelled any shows and plans on performing Thursday at the House of Blues in Cleveland.
Beyonce falls and keeps going like aint a damn thing happen and Solange breaks her foot and performs like aint a damn thing happen. Matthew and Tina did something right!!!
