Serena Williams has her good days and her bad days. This past Oscar weekend, she had a bad one. The wig she’s wearing is so horrible, the dress isn’t too hot either. Serena is a young woman and this look is definitely not helping preserve her sexy. Its so Gayle King-ish.

Sometimes rich people just get bored and Serena Williams might just have a case of boredom. She has joined a 240-hour program to become a certified nail technician.

“No one likes getting their nails done more than I do,” Williams wrote on her blog. “As a matter of fact I go every 4 days to get a manicure and every 7 days for a pedicure. So, I had a brilliant idea to get certified to be a nail tech.”

Williams revealed she is taking classes in Palm Beach, Fla., in preparation for her upcoming nail collection with a company called HairTech.

“I thought ‘Serena, this is a no-brainer,’” she wrote.

Now, it seems the athlete-turned-beautician has taken the same care with her new endeavor as she did with the one that has made her famous.

“The night before my class I made sure I had all my tools, books and gear organized,” Williams wrote.

“I went to the Hello Kitty store and bought plenty of containers as well as a backpack to keep my belongings. If I’m not the best, I sure do want to look like it.”

A fan insulted Serena Williams as he rooted for and cheered on her opponent, Justine Henin. Why did he do that? Serena heard it and didn’t take to kindly to it. She surged to a 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 victory in the Australian Open final Saturday, closing this chapter on Henin’s remarkable comeback from retirement.

I think everyone was for Justine tonight. But you know what really helped me out? This one guy was like, ’You can beat her Justine, she’s not that good.’

“I looked at that guy and I was like, you don’t know me,” Williams added, wagging her finger. “I think I won all the games after that because that’s totally rude.”
But the knocks gave her the most motivation.

“That is a part of being me. Like hearing things like that that inspires me to work harder, do better,” Williams said. “I feel like I have things to prove.” source

Venus and Serena Williams do it again!

Venus and Serena Williams won their fourth Australian Open women’s doubles title, beating Cara Black and Liezel Huber 6-4, 6-3. The Williams sisters won the Australian title for the first time in 2001 and added championships in 2003 and last year. Black, from Zimbabwe, and Huber, a South African-born American citizen, won the 2007 title. It was the 11th time the Williams sisters have combined for a Grand Slam doubles title. Serena has 11 singles majors, also, and is hoping for a 12th in the Australian Open final on Saturday against Justine Henin.

“I look forward to more titles,” Serena Williams said. Venus Williams also has won a mixed-doubles title at the Australian Open – in 1998 with fellow American Jason Gimelstob. Serena Williams was a losing finalist in mixed doubles with Max Mirnyi of Belarus in 1999. source

Serena Williams may have apologized for her obscenity-laden tirade Saturday at the U.S. Open, but chances are it’s going to happen again because this diva isn’t going to change.

“I am passionate about tennis, and I’m never going to stop being who I am,” the potty-mouthed pro proclaimed at an M2 party Tuesday night feting her cover for Hamptons mag. “I’m still gonna grunt, I’m still gonna argue, and there’s nothing wrong with that. There’s nothing wrong with being who you are and expressing who you are, but in the right way.”

Judging by her now-infamous outburst against a line judge – in which she unleashed a tirade of profanity after being called on a foot fault – Williams isn’t the best loser. But as a woman who plays to win, Williams is indignant that she’s been attacked for living in the heat of the moment – and for doing, well, her job.

“People have done and said way more than I did,” she argued. “I think it’s just [a big deal] because of who I am.”

Her plan of attack for the future?

Wash her hands of the situation and turn the page.

“I can’t say I’m unhappy this happened, because it made me realize I’m human and I can make mistakes, too,” she said. “It’s good to make mistakes and learn from them. I’m moving on.”

Partying had to be on the schedule because Serena and Venus did purchase a stake in the Miami Dolphins football team. Venus and Serena Want to Buy Stake in Miami Dolphins

Venus and Serena Williams are making moves to become part-owners of the NFL’s Miami Dolphins.
“There have been preliminary talks and hopefully it will work out,” Serena told reporters after her second round win over Kazakhstan’s Yaroslava Shvedova at the Toronto Cup. “That would be a great opportunity for both of us. We’ll see what happens, you never know.”

The Dolphins are already part owned by musicians Jimmy Buffet and Gloria and Emilio Estefan, who became minority partners in the team earlier this year. The Williams sisters, who live in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, are not described as big NFL fans but view the Dolphins as a vehicle to promote themselves.

“Venus and I are always trying to expand our brand,” said Serena. “If the opportunity presents itself we would love to see where it can take us. source

Serena Williams will cover the September issue of Mens Fitness magazine. It will be available this month on the 18th. Men’s Fitness says that Serena is one of the sexiest female athletes in the world.
About the title, Serena says: “I have large boobs and a sizable a$$, so I guess the title comes with the territory. But I just play tennis. I always try to look my best, even though it’s hard to look your best when you’re sweating, grunting, and making faces. I never look my best when playing.”
