    The former fiance of Gov. Sarah Palin’s 18-year-old daughter says he thinks he knows why the Alaska governor is resigning — concerns over money. Johnston says he lived with the Palin family from early December to the second week in January. He claims he heard the governor several times say how nice it would be to take advantage of the lucrative deals that were being offered, including a reality show and a book. “I think the big deal was the book. That was millions of dollars,” said Johnston, who has had a strained relationship with the family but now says things have improved. Palin has a book deal, but compensation details haven’t been disclosed. source

According to Politico.com, the Republican National Committee appears to have spent more than $150,000 to clothe and accessorize vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and her family since her surprise pick by John McCain in late August.
    According to financial disclosure records, the accessorizing began in early September and included bills from Saks Fifth Avenue in St. Louis and New York for a combined $49,425.74.
    The records also document a couple of big-time shopping trips to Neiman Marcus in Minneapolis, including one $75,062.63 spree in early September.
    The RNC also spent $4,716.49 on hair and makeup through September after reporting no such costs in August.
    Politico asked the McCain campaign for comment, explicitly noting the $150,000 in expenses for department store shopping and makeup consultation that were incurred immediately after Palin’s announcement. Pre-September reports do not include similar costs.
    Spokeswoman Maria Comella declined to answer specific questions about the expenditures, including whether it was necessary to spend that much and whether it amounted to one early investment in Palin or if shopping for the vice presidential nominee was ongoing.

We are capable of running this country and want a chance to prove it. What we don’t want, is someone that makes our gender look dumb as hell. We don’t want a woman like Sarah Palin who will set us back years in public opinion about our capabilities. What did McCain succeed in doing? He did just that, Sarah Palin is no Hillary Clinton! Hell she hasn’t even lived up to the description of Sarah Palin that the McCain camp put out there when she boarded this presidential campaign roller coaster ride.
    Sarah Palin has spoken so, what did you learn? The answer is nothing! She answers everything generally and nothing specifically. “I am ready, I have that readiness, I am prepared.” What the hell does that mean?
    Sean Hannity asked her about the fundamentals of the economy, if she thought the economy was
    strong. She never answered his question on her beliefs instead she said, the Obama campaign delivered an unfair attack on McCain’s verbage. That was her response, to explain Mccain’s words not to answer the question on her thoughts. The worst was probably the entire interview with Katie Couric. Lets see, where to start? She couldn’t name anything her running mate has stood up for or fought for during his entire time in the Senate besides earmarks. She couldn’t name one newspaper that she reads. She didn’t even say her hometown papers. Sarah Palin could not name one single Supreme Court case besides Roe-v-Wade but yet she holds an executive position running a state. She lives in Alaska, she knows what Alaskans want. She has not been interested in the world let alone America and now she’s allowing herself to be used by John McCain. This woman has no right being in a position to possibly run the country. McCain tried to get the female vote but instead he succeeded in alienating women. He picked an incompetent woman for the sake of having the female gender on his ticket. His biggest mistake was not picking a competent running mate. I have no doubt that she is good for Alaska, but that doesn’t automatically make her good for America!

Now, everytime McCain is speaking who is in the background clapping, cheering and smiling? None other than Sarah Palin’s husband, Todd. Its so sickening, if Sarah is speaking, Todd is there, if McCain is speaking Todd is there. He is the new male cheerleader 2008. What do we know about Todd so far? He has been part of Troopergate, making calls on behalf of his wife to get a trooper fired. He was not elected by Alaskans but its clear that he makes decisions and acts on behalf of his wife. He’s her muscle. I don’t want to deal with a VP who uses her husband to do all the dirty work. In addition Palin runs everything by him as evidenced in emails that she would CC’ her husband on. Why didn’t McCain just pick Todd Palin? Oh I forgot, you must have executive experience, be against earmarks, ready to reform, have children, breast and a vagina for this position.

    I really cannot bite my tongue anymore when it comes to Sarah Palin.
    I couldn’t be more supportive of a woman in office, but let’s face it, it comes down to the person, and their beliefs, male or female.
    Is it a sin to be gay? Should it be a sin to be straight? Or to use birth control? Or to have sex before marriage? Or even to have a child out of wedlock?
    I find it quite interesting that a woman who now is running to be second in command of the United States, only 4 years ago had aspirations to be a television anchor. Which is probably all she is qualified to be… Also interesting that she got her passport in 2006.. And that she is not fond of environmental protection considering she’s FOR drilling for oil in some of our protected land…. Well hey, if she wants to drill for oil, she should DO IT IN HER OWN backyard. This really shows me her complete lack of real preparation to become the second most powerful person in this country.
    Hmmmm-All of this gets me going-Fear, Anxiety, Concern, Disappointment, and Stress come into play…
    Is our country so divided that the Republicans best hope is a narrow minded, media obsessed homophobe?
    I know that the most important thing about this election is that people need to exercise their right to vote, regardless of their choice… I would have liked to have remained impartial, however I am afraid that the “lipstick on a pig” comments will overshadow the issues and the fact that I believe Barack Obama is the best choice, in this election, for president…

    Palin’s Desire to “save and convert the gays”-really??

    According to this Associated Press story, the church of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is hosting a kind of conference devoted to the “conversion of Gays” — no kidding.

    ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) ? Gov. Sarah Palin’s church is promoting a conference that promises to convert gays into heterosexuals through the power of prayer.

If anybody says that this interview was to tough, what the hell will the Vice President job be like? Sarah Palin must not whine (her words about Hilary Clinton) she needs to step up and prove that she’s capable of being in the number two slot. Palin says she is ready to become Vice President, her party says she is, but will you feel safe if John McCain has a heart attack or another cancer scare and this woman is your president? Who cares that she is a woman. Who cares that she is a hockey mom. I personally don’t know one damn hockey mom and its never been a credential for anything let alone running the government. Can she evaluate what a country needs verses a town of 8 or 9 thousand people? Can she speak to and gain the respect of foreign leaders? Will our country and the office of President look like a popularity contest or be viewed as a joke? Can she perform under pressure? People are running around saying they love Sarah Palin, if you were from Alaska I might be able to understand that statement. As for the rest of the country, we’ve seen her for the last two weeks but we don’t know her to love her. Stop kissing her ass because she’s a woman and lets get the facts on the table (interviews, unscripted questions) so we can move forward with whats best for the government.

    Sarah Palin has yet to do one interview, we don’t know any of her personal views. All we’ve heard from her is the bullsh!t that speech writers wrote for whoever was going to run in the VP spot. What we did know is the following:
    **Sarah Palin hired a lobbyist to secure earmarks for Alaska but she said she’s against frivolous spending and lobbyist in government.
    **She said she voted against the bridge to nowhere but she said she supported it and she used the earmarks attributed to the bridge for other things in the state.
    **Self interest over state interest. She charged her own state a per diem for living in her own home and that totaled over $17,000. It was intended for travel expenses and not meant to scam taxpayers.
    **She made rape victims pay for their own rape kits.
    **She used state money to pay travel expenses for her kids and husband and that totaled about $50,000.
    **She tried to have her brother in law fired to help her sister win custody of her kids.
    **She cost a man his career because he didn’t follow through with her request to fire her brother in law.
    **She criticized and stopped other state employees for doing the same things.
    **She traveled outside the United States one time in her whole life.
    **She’s still reciting that same damn speech, over and over and over again.
    **She never sold the state jet on Ebay but their still reporting that lie.
    **She never fired the governor’s chef that she keeps saying she fired, she gave her a new title and the chef still cooks for her family.
    Sarah Palin it just keeps getting better.

Now we learn that that was in fact a lie. While Palin campaigned to become governor one question asked was, “would you stop the bridge project, she answered No, she would not stop the progress.
    The other lie is to her constituency. She told them while campaigning that she would not stop a project (the bridge) that they wanted. What did she do? She was elected got into office and stopped the project.
    Question: What if McCain said he supports health care reform and then gets into office and changes his mind, after he wins and election. Thats the biggest fraud that a politician can do. Win on one pretense, get into office and change their mind.

It was clear to me that her daughter, Bristol was pregnant. They were already trying to decieve us. Hiding Bristol in the trailer, having her put a cover over her stomach and holding the baby to hide her own baby bump.
    Sarah Palin is entering this race with two scandals. One for trying to get her sisters husband fired and now her teenage daughter being pregnant. Palin is so busy being governor that she is obviously neglecting her children. Call me crazy but I don’t want a pregnant teenager serving as an example for girls. The fact that Palin is putting it out there that she’s happy about being a grandparent and that Bristol Palin is going to marry is bullsh!t and spin. She kept the daughter out of school for months to hide the pregnancy thereby securing the VP nomination. Palin should put her family first and focus on them. She’s going to have a grandchild around the same age as her child. I don’t think its an appropriate picture or representation of the first families. Teenage pregnancy is on the rise and now we have to deal with seeing Palin’s daughter parade around pregnant. Your daughter got caught out there and now its okay. I think not! Her daughter is not practicing safe sex, she’s not married, she’s too young and now her life has forever changed. I wonder if Bristol planned this pregnancy? According to her mother’s beliefs this child can’t be an accident. Palin doesn’t believe that women have the right to choose under any circumstance. Is she forcing her daughter to have this child? If she keeps acting like everythings perfect and she’s living in lala land, the other daughter is up next. Palin didn’t teach her own daughter prevention or abstinence. She couldn’t control her own house so why would we trust her to make policy’s for women or the entire country?

McCain is old as hell and could possibly die in office. Palin is just another weave wearing woman using her body and looks to get ahead.

    Looks certainly count with McCain thats why after his first wife was disfigured, he left her and moved on to plastic Cindy. Sarah Palin is a woman who has children that need her attention. The infant child has Down Syndrome and the older girls are fully developed and this is no time for their mom to be neglecting them. There is no way to be on the road traveling, defending McCain and Bush, trying to raise money and get votes without negelecting your kids. That husband of hers looks like he will cheat at the first chance he gets. He’s young and has already proven that he’ll use her office and status to get what he wants. We don’t need his ass in her ear giving advice on how to run the country. McCain has taken a big gamble and we’ll see soon enough if it was a good bet or not. One last thought remember when Paula Zahn had CNN pull those commercials saying she was the hottest news anchor on TV. She did so because she thought it undermined her credentials and professionalism. Look at Sarah Palin in the pics above posing for hottest governor, that’s all she has to work with!

    Sarah Palin another b!tch who used her body to get ahead. She is pictured here topless and she wants to be the next Vice President of the United States of America. Look at her credentials….. She is a mother of five children and one is an infant. The infant has Down Syndrome. Why would we want her in the White House? Palin has plenty to deal with already. McCain is trying to throw her into a position of extreme importance and she is little known and has no background in Foreign Policy, National Security. How could you be VP with five kids one of which has medical needs? How do you weight your priorties? How do you find balance, the country or your young children? How? Its very unfair of McCain to put his supporters in this position just to try and get the female vote. It is also insulting to all women that McCain thinks we would vote for his campaign simply because she has breast and a vagina.

McCain thinks that he’s using this woman to secure the female vote and get Hilary Clinton supporters. He is sadly mistaken. Hilary Clinton has been in politics all of her adult life. She was in the running to become President of the United States because of her qualifications and America’s familiarity with her. This lady Palin, no one knows her. She’s inexperienced, unethical and a heartbeat (McCain’s heartbeat) away from becoming President. Palin is currently under investigation by her state for trying to get her sister’s husband fired from his job. McCain is insulting women everywhere by acting like she’s a replacement for Hilary Clinton. She is also against a womans right to choose.
