In the 20/20 interview airing tonight, Rihanna offers a graphic account of the fateful Feb. 7 confrontation with her then-boyfriend Chris Brown – including the terrifying blankness that seemed to come over him as he assaulted her.

She says all she kept thinking was, “When is it going to stop? When is it going to stop? He had no soul in his eyes. Just blank. He was clearly blacked-out. There was no person when I looked at him.”

The fight, she says, started when Brown received a text message from another woman while they were driving away from a Grammy Awards party.

“I caught him in a lie, and he wouldn’t tell the truth. And I wouldn’t drop it,” Rihanna tells Diane Sawyer in the interview, portions of which aired Friday morning on Good Morning America.

“I couldn’t take that he kept lying to me, and he couldn’t take that I wouldn’t drop it … It escalated into him being violent towards me. And it was ugly.”

How ugly? “I was battered, I was bleeding, I was swollen in my face,” she says. (more…)

Rihanna said in her interview with Diane Sawyer that she was ashamed and embarrassed by her love of Chris Brown. She was embarrassed that she fell in love with a person who could treat her like that. The short clip was about what she could teach people and how her first reaction was normal. The first reaction being running back to him. Tomorrow she’s supposed to reveal the details of what happened inside the car.

I think she’s full of it. She didn’t speak out to help these young girls before it was time to promote her album. I won’t even remind you all that it was just less than 3 months ago that Rihanna still wanted the stay away order lifted. Her lawyer made it clear that she wanted that order removed. So when did she come to these conclusions about being a spokesperson for women? Oh and in case you’ve been living under a rock, Rihanna’s album is dropping on November 23.

Rihanna is in overdrive. She has an album coming out and of course everybody wants to hear her side of the story. She hasn’t said much but you can tell where she’s going. She’ll reiterate everything we already know and won’t tell us nothing that want to know.
Glamour: Let’s talk about this past year—you’ve obviously been through some difficult things. How did the people around you help you cope?

Rihanna: My friends and family have been extremely supportive, and everyone has been there for me. But at some point you are there alone. It’s a lonely place to be—no one can understand. That’s when you get close to God.

Glamour: Are you referring to the [Chris Brown] incident?

Rihanna: I am talking about starting with the night [before] the Grammys and then on. That was not the only thing that occurred this year. The picture leaking…it was one thing after another.

Glamour: You’re talking about the photo [reportedly of Rihanna’s injured face taken by police after Brown assaulted her] that was allegedly leaked by cops. You handled that so well; you kept silent in the press.

Rihanna: It was humiliating; that is not a photo you would show to anybody. I felt completely taken advantage of. I felt like people were making it into a fun topic on the Internet, and it’s my life. I was disappointed, especially when I found out the photo was [supposedly leaked by] two women.

“This happened to me…It can happen to anyone,” Rihanna, 21, tells Diane Sawyer in an interview airing on “Good Morning America” and “20/20.” Chris apologized after details of the attack surfaced — and said he “couldn’t believe” he’d abused his girlfriend. In an excerpt from the sit-down, Rihanna reveals that the situation with Chris, 20, was difficult because the R&B star “was definitely my first big love.” Rihanna recently dropped her first single “Russian Roulette” from her album, Rated R, out on November 23. Rihanna’s full interview with Sawyer airs Thursday on “Good Morning America” and Friday on “20/20.”

What is Rihanna’s story going to be? I know she won’t get deeply involved in the drama of that night and she definitely won’t reveal the whole story. That’s why ABC’s description is so brief. They didn’t even have snippets of the interview so we’ll have to watch to see. Rihanna will tell just enough to hype up her new album and keep the rest a secret. She’ll probably also talk about the Stay Away order because she thinks its unfair and then just keep it moving.
