    In the 20/20 interview airing tonight, Rihanna offers a graphic account of the fateful Feb. 7 confrontation with her then-boyfriend Chris Brown – including the terrifying blankness that seemed to come over him as he assaulted her.

    She says all she kept thinking was, “When is it going to stop? When is it going to stop? He had no soul in his eyes. Just blank. He was clearly blacked-out. There was no person when I looked at him.”

    The fight, she says, started when Brown received a text message from another woman while they were driving away from a Grammy Awards party.

    “I caught him in a lie, and he wouldn’t tell the truth. And I wouldn’t drop it,” Rihanna tells Diane Sawyer in the interview, portions of which aired Friday morning on Good Morning America.

    “I couldn’t take that he kept lying to me, and he couldn’t take that I wouldn’t drop it … It escalated into him being violent towards me. And it was ugly.”

    How ugly? “I was battered, I was bleeding, I was swollen in my face,” she says.

    She felt trapped. “My next option was to get out of the car and walk, start walking in a gown and a bloody face,” she says. “I didn’t have a plan. That whole night was not part of my plan.”

    Rihanna believes now that the passionate love affair between the young couple – she was 20 at the time, he was 19 – was an unhealthy one. “The more in love we became, the more dangerous we became for each other, equally dangerous,” she says. “Because it was a bit of an obsession.”

    She also discusses how she eventually broke things off with Brown, and how she feels about him today.

    “Love doesn’t go away right away,” she says. “He didn’t accept that very well. Obviously he didn’t want us to be apart. But I had to make a decision for me.”

    Does she hate Brown now? “No, I don’t hate him at all,” she says. “I actually love and care about him. I want him to do well, have a great career, have a great life and grow up. And just take this as something you had to go through to grow up and learn.” source

    The judge is trying to play the mommy role instead of her role as a judge. Look, I’m over the Chris Brown, Rihanna case. I feel like they are learning some hard lessons right now and they have to do it all in the public eye. At the same time I don’t feel like the judge should be able to determine if they get back together or not. The judge understands that Rihanna wanted the protective order lifted and yet she kept it in place for five years. I don’t think she kept it in place for any other reason except, this is a high profile case and she knows it’ll be in the news as soon as the two were seen together. Hell his domestic violence classes are for a whole year. Either the judge thinks the domestic violence classes will be effective or they won’t, which is it???
    Judge Patricia Schnegg said during the sentencing, “I am not immune to the chatter on the airwaves.” She’s a judge, she should be immuned to it. Judges instruct juror’s during a case– not to listen to news and gossip surrounding cases as it may sway their opinions and influence them against the facts. She obviously forgot those lessons.

    Brown was sentenced to hard labor at the Commonwealth Catholic Charities in Richmond, VA, where he must also take a 52-week domestic violence course. He must stay 100 yards away from Rihanna, unless they are both at an entertainment-related event, in which case he must stay 10 yards away. The protective order lasts 5 years. He must provide DNA samples as requested by authorities.

    Could they be making sweet music again? Just days after Chris Brown publicly apologized for his February beating of then-girlfriend Rihanna, the two spent the weekend at the same luxury Midtown hotel under a cloak of secrecy. The pretty “Umbrella” singer and “Run It” crooner — who is barred from seeing his former squeeze by a restraining order issued in Los Angeles — checked into separate rooms at the Trump International Hotel & Tower on Friday, hotel sources said. They spent the next two days coming and going in separate chauffeured vehicles from the underground garage of the 52-story Columbus Circle building.
    The two appear to have taken great measures to avoid public exposure, including the use of decoy vehicles to throw off reporters and photographers. As of last night, the secretive performers hadn’t been seen together. Neither Brown nor Rihanna had any public appearances or events to otherwise bring them to Manhattan, although London’s Daily Mail reported that Rihanna is shopping for a Big Apple pad. Last night,

    Brown was spotted leaving the hotel for Harlem, where he ducked into a building at 135th Street and Amsterdam Avenue. A childhood friend whom Brown regularly visits lives there, said a barber who works in the building. Rihanna’s car sped away around 10 p.m. last night, sources at the hotel said. About an hour later, Brown returned from Harlem and checked out of the luxury digs. A member of his entourage told The Post it was because “she [Rihanna] checked in.” At about 7 p.m. Friday night, Brown was seen leaving the hotel to go to the movies with friends, witnesses said. Two hours later, Rihanna, 21, and at least seven friends left for the tony Philippe restaurant on East 60th Street, sources at the eatery said.
    The former lovers haven’t been spotted together since their Feb. 8 blowup in LA that left Rihanna bleeding and badly bruised. Brown pleaded guilty to one count of felony assault and will be sentenced Aug. 5. Judge Patricia Schnegg is expected to sign off on a plea bargain that will keep him out of jail. The deal calls for Brown to perform 1,400 hours of community service and undergo domestic-violence counseling. Schnegg ordered Brown to keep 50 yards away from Rihanna — or 10 yards if they’re at the same music-industry event — despite Rihanna’s plea that she didn’t need protection. If Brown is found to have violated the order — even with Rihanna’s consent — he risks blowing his plea bargain and being charged with a misdemeanor. Brown’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, said he was unaware of his client’s whereabouts yesterday and added: “I don’t want to be quoted on something hypothetical.” Prosecutors, Rihanna’s lawyer and publicists, and Brown’s publicists did not return messages seeking their comments.     Rihanna stayed away from the BET Awards show. Why we won’t know unless she tells somebody but that won’t stop us from speculating. Maybe Rihanna skipped the show because it was so high profile and at the end of the day it would boil down to—–did she and Chris stay 10 yards away and all that crap that has nothing to do with MJ, too stressful. So that might of been out of respect. Too much of a spectacle. Maybe it was a little pact between Ri and Chris. I can’t go, then I won’t go type of thing. Anyway homegirl is doing it in this black and white. She went out at the Gramercy Park Hotel in NYC.

    Chris Brown is under court orders not to go within 50 yards of Rihanna, but both he and his ex want to get rid of the strict no-contact clause.
    “They think it’s unnecessary and ridiculous,” says a mutual pal of the protection order handed down at Tuesday’s criminal proceeding, during which Brown pled guilty to one count of felony assault in the February attack that left Rihanna battered and bruised. “After [the proceeding], Ri and Chris talked on the phone for almost an hour and really worked at becoming friends.     Rihanna did not object to the plea deal, she thought it was fair. She only learned of the deal at 12:30 this afternoon. As part of the deal Chris was issued a Stay Away Order. Rihanna didn’t think this was necessary, she thought the protective order was enough. The stay away order lasts for five years and states that Chris cannot come within 50 yards of Rihanna, if they are at the same event it’s 10 yards for five years. Chris will have options from the probation department Virginia about which jobs he could do to satisfy the 180 days of labor. Rihanna was told by the judge not to contact Chris as it would violate his stay away order. The two are to have no contact. The judge says she would reconsider the terms of the stay away order after Chris is sentenced in August.

    Rihanna and her man Chris Brown were at the Orlando Magic vs- Los Angeles Lakers game 4, sitting in the same row on opposite ends under the basket. We haven’t seen any exchanges but you know they’re texting and trying to figure out how they’re going hook up without paparazzi catching them.
    People magazine reported this:
    “They requested to sit together” at the matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Orlando Magic, says a source. But when game time arrived, the one-time lovers opted for seats in separate sections. During half time, each retreated to separate private lounges, according to eyewitnesses.

    Rihanna has been subpoenaed by LA prosecutors to appear in court to testify at Chris Brown’s hearing. She was served in person Tuesday in Los Angeles with the subpoena for the June 22 hearing in Superior Court, her lawyer Donald Etra confirms. Brown, 20, has pleaded not guilty to two felony counts following his alleged Feb. 8 assault on Rihanna.
    “Rihanna was served at my office by L.A. DA investigators,” Etra says. “If the preliminary hearing indeed goes forward, she is now legally required to be there, she will be there, and will answer all questions truthfully.” The purpose of the hearing is to determine if there’s enough evidence to bind Brown over to trial. Rihanna will also be subject to cross-examination by Brown’s attorney Mark Geragos. The case could end any time with a plea deal, making the hearing unnecessary.
    “Rihanna’s testimony can make or break the case,” says L.A. criminal defense attorney Jeffery Rubenstein, who’s not involved with the case. “Her willingness to testify and be truthful about what happened is a step closer to convicting Brown. On the other hand, if prosecutors fail to present a case, Geragos can seek to dismiss or reduce the charges on the spot.” source

    Rihanna could take the witness stand as early as next month in the felony assault case against ex-beau Chris Brown. A judge decided early Thursday to set Brown’s preliminary evidence hearing for June 22, and Rihanna’s lawyer told the Daily News that her attendance has been requested by prosecutors. “The DA has indicated she will be subpoenaed to appear at the preliminary hearing,” attorney Donald Etra said outside court. “At that time, the District Attorney will determine whether or not to use her as a witness.” Etra said Brown’s lawyer Mark Geragos would have a chance to cross examine Rihanna if she’s called to testify.
    “She will do what the law requires. There’s never been any question about that,” Etra said. “It’s clear that the preliminary hearing is going forward. She has agreed to do what the DA asks of her.”
    Asked how his client is feeling, Etra said: “She’s doing great.”

    Brown, 20, was charged with punching, choking and biting Rihanna, 21, in a violent lovers’ quarrel after a pre-party for the Grammy Awards on Feb. 8. The R&B crooner is also accused of threatening to kill her. He pleaded not guilty in April. Geragos appeared in court Thursday to set the preliminary hearing and to argue for access to an internal police probe investigating how a case photo allegedly showing Rihanna’s battered face ended up on the celebrity news site TMZ.com. He argued that the preliminary hearing is a “critical stage” of the proceeding, and he wants information on the leak — and any associated “misconduct” – so he can prepare for cross-examination of police officers called to the stand.

    Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg denied his motions saying he was not entitled to discovery before the preliminary hearing but could raise his concerns again later. “So someone went off the ranch and sold or traded or did something with a photograph,” Schnegg said. “(That) doesn’t impact the validity of the fact that police responded to a 911 call, went out and investigated something …and your client was arrested.” “It doesn’t matter to me that your client is high profile,” the judge said. source

    Mark Geragos is the lawyer for Chris Brown and he has just filed several motions to get to the bottom of the Rihanna picture DISTRIBUTION (wasn’t no damn leak) to TMZ. Geragos motions asked for internal police records of the distributed photo. Of course the LAPD hasn’t done a good job of investigating themselves as their case on the photo is still open. The picture has tainted the public against Chris Brown and could possibly be the reason for him getting off.
    Brown, who turned 20 on Tuesday, has pleaded not guilty to felony assault and making criminal threats.

    The prosecution’s case against Chris Brown might be drifting away all because of those leaked photo’s of Rihanna. This is exactly what Chris’ lawyer, Mark Geragos is shooting for. Today a Los Angeles Superior Court Judge set a preliminary hearing for May 28 on Brown’s double felony case—the result of Geragos pushing for as late a court date as possible to allow him adequate time to respond to the still-pending investigation into just how Rihanna’s police photo was released.

    Should the gruesome photos’ appearance prove to be the result of a police transgression, Geragos told E! News that he will move to have Brown’s entire case dismissed. “The leaks can form the basis for a motion to dismiss the case in regards to outrageous governmental misconduct,” Geragos said.
    At the request of the singer’s attorney, Donald Etra, Judge Schnegg agreed to release the nearly $1.4 million worth of jewels Rihanna had donned the night of the incident. The jewels were taken into police custody, along with a bloodstained Gucci gown, as evidence in the case.

    Will the judge release Rihanna’s jewelry?
    Rihanna’s lawyer is asking the judge to release her jewelry from the night of her assault. The jewelry was taken as evidence and hasn’t been released but she wants it back asap. It was on loan from jewelers and they either want her to fork it over or pay $1.4 mil. We’re told the cops would like to return it as well. There are reports the D.A. is objecting to returning it, reportedly for leverage so Rihanna will cooperate. But our sources say the D.A. has not taken a position.

    Rihanna’s lawyer and Brown’s lawyer want to take photos of the jewelry and use them if the jewelry ever becomes evidence in a trial. But legally, her lawyer doesn’t have authority to appear in Brown’s case — in legalese her lawyer doesn’t have “standing.” So the judge could simply refuse to hear Rihanna’s lawyer.

    Rihanna had a secret celebration at Giorgio’s restaurant in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 29. Rihanna partied with girlfriends and a couple of people from her record label. The night was filled with toasts, including one to her breakup with Chris! A source close to Rihanna said that the party also celebrated the recent news her hit single Disturbia has gone triple platinum.

    “People close to Rihanna have drilled it into her head that if she stays with Chris her career will be over,” said the source. “At the dinner party there were about 10 toasts made, including one to the fact she’s about to land the cover of a major fashion magazine.”

    Rihanna is also close to landing a movie role, giving her another reason to celebrate. “People told fun stories about Ri at the party,” the source said
    Some people close to Rihanna still doubt that she is finished with Brown, who is facing criminal charges. These sources also say that something “big” is in the works and going to be announced shortly.

    Rapper Soulja Boy, who says he’s friends with both Chris Brown and Rihanna, says he was surprised by the pass incident, while giving his words of encouragement.
    “[Chris] needs to be focused on fixing himself right now and fixing the relationship,” says Soulja Boy according to Entertainment Weekly. “I don’t know what went wrong or what happened exactly, but I couldn’t be more shocked. Both of them are my friends, and I wish both of them the best of luck. They were really good together, and it is sad that it happened. It came out of nowhere. I would have never seen that coming. It is not like him at all. Not his nature.”


    Soulja boy also hopes that Brown, 19, and Rihanna, 21, get through the situation in a “positive light,” even though they will have to deal with the intense media input.

    “Remember that only God can judge, though,” Soulja Boy said. “None of us know exactly what went down that weekend. Only they know the whole truth, and it will be up to them to decide if they can get straight with it and whether they will want to continue as a couple. I can just be there if either of them need me.”

    It’s not an official breakup, but Rihanna and Chris Brown are taking some time off from their controversial relationship.

    “They’re taking a break,” a source revealed. “Jay-Z told Rihanna she needs to cut things out with Chris, at least in public.” Whatever is going on behind closed doors, Rihanna is putting on a good public show of recovery. On March 18, the singer texted Katy Perry and partied with her and Hayden Panettiere at Hollywood hotspot Les Deux, Us Weekly reports.

    The public may have no desire to see Brown, who said to be hiding out in a house in Montpelier, Va., although he recently emerged to buy 14 baseball caps at a local Lids store. “He said, ‘It’s not what it seems’ about the Rihanna situation,” salesperson Shavon Bradshaw told Us Weekly. Brown was due to appear at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards this Saturday, but took his name out of the running after charges were filed against him in his alleged Feb. 8 assault of Rihanna.

    Brown may not be the most popular guy right now, but friend Tyrese Gibson says everyone needs to take a step back and give him and Rihanna breathing room while they sort through a trying time.

    Everybody from talk show host Oprah Winfrey and Tyra Banks to Roseanne Barr and Ellen have spoke out about Rihanna and Chris Brown’s relationship. Now someone close to Rihanna is telling them to shut it up and mind their own business because its not helping her.

    The music mogul who discovered RIHANNA has spoken out about his protege for the first time since her much-publicised fight with boyfriend CHRIS BROWN.

    Producer Evan Rogers insists the good intentions of talk show hosts like Oprah Winfrey and Tyra Banks, who have publicly urged Rihanna to break off her romance with Brown, aren’t helping the Umbrella singer, who reconciled with her boyfriend after a brief split.

    Rogers tells Entertainment Weekly magazine that the R&B star is struggling to come to terms with the fall-out from the 8 February (09) bust-up, which left her face swollen and bruised – and comments from TV pundits aren’t helping.

    He says, “It turns up the heat in terms of it seeming like the whole world is telling her what to do. At the end of the day, people forget that, at 21, your perspective is very different. These kinds of things can happen to anyone, whether you’re a celebrity or not.

    “She’s very aware of everything that’s going on. Just like anyone else, she watches TV, she goes online. And I think that it matters to her, but there’s a line that she walks between being human and caring when you hear these kinds of things, and separating your personal life from your professional life.

    “She’s doing the best she can and this is a very difficult time that she’s going through right now, and she’s going to learn a lot from it. “I think that most people still see her as the victim in this situation. You’ll always have a lot of haters who talk negatively about artists all day long on the Internet. But I think that when the dust settles, she’s going to be fine.”

    Rogers has also dismissed reports suggesting Rihanna and Brown have recorded a reconciliation duet: “There’s no duet that’s been recorded other than one called Bad Girl that was a bootleg track from months before.”

    The statement was released through her lawyer, Marshall B. Grossman:
    “The relationship between Ms. Davis and Mr. Brown is that of manager and client. There has never been any other relationship. The rumors in circulation are false. There are no emails between Ms. Davis and Mr. Brown of the type which have been described in media reports.
    If the source of the false rumors is identified, legal action will be taken. Given the nature of the legal issues affecting Mr. Brown, Ms. Davis will not be making any further statements.”

He basically told her, that it’s his house and he has the right to loan it to a friend as a favor if he wants. He said the two needed to talk and he was being a friend by not passing judgment because none of us know what happened in that car. I’m glad that he stepped up and let people know that Chris Brown hasn’t been convicted of anything so we don’t have the right to accuse him or convict him of anything. Lord knows Puff has had enough trials to understand what their going through.

    Every since the Chris Brown and Rihanna incident happened we knew that a text message is what started the whole thing. What we didn’t know is who sent the text message. Now we have found out that it was his manager, Tina Brown. Brown who turns 40 this month used to be an executive over at Def Jam but she left and began managing Chris Brown. Rumors of the two having a secret affair were rampant before he started publicly being linked to Rihanna. Both parties, Brown and Davis denied the romance. The police report said that the text message to Brown talked about hooking up later and that set Rihanna off. She slapped and hit him and he then fired back.

    Well they ask him questions because he’s a jackass and he’ll say something crazy like he did in the Rihanna-Chris Brown situation. He just had an interview with Inside Edition where he told them that he would have “fired” the “Umbrella” singer for going back to Brown.
    “She better get the hell out. If she goes back, she’s a loser and she doesn’t deserve to have any future success.” Who the hell is he? He’s been married and divorced more times than any one else I can think of and he looks a hot mess. He’s a real estate developer folks, that’s it. Not a love or relationship expert.

Chris didn’t enter a plea to the felony charges. The proceeding lasted all of 4 minutes and 20 seconds. The judge granted Brown’s request to move the arraignment to April 6th. Rihanna’s lawyer was present and they didn’t request a restraining order so the two may still have contact.

He is facing assault by means likely to create great bodily injury and criminal threats. He will be arraigned today at 3:30 p.m. The first count claims that he “who did willfully and unlawfully commit an assault on Robin F [Rihanna] by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury.”

    The second count of criminal threats states that Brown “unlawfully threatened to commit a crime with which would result in death and great bodily injury to Robin F. with the specific intent that the statement be taken as a threat. It is further alleged that the threatened crime on its face value and under its circumstances in which it was made was so unequivocally and unconditional and specific to convey to Robin F a gravity of purpose and an immediate prospect of execution. It is further alleged that the said Robin F was reasonably in sustained fear of his/she safety and the safety of his/her immediate family.”

Usher felt that Chris needed to “show some remorse” and therefore he stated it. Now Mr. Raymond is accusing the media of taking his comments, that he made while laughing and joking, out of context. In the video, Usher said “I’m a little disappointed in this photo,” referring to the picture of a bruised Rihanna after the alleged fight. “C’mon, Chris. Have a little bit of remorse, man. The man’s on jet skis? Like, just relaxing in Miami?” Usher now insists he didn’t mean to cause any offense.

    A statement released from his camp says the following: “The comments made during a recent recording session amongst friends were taken out of context and blown out of proportion.     Kinda hard to say we blew it out of proportion when your on tape, video tape for the world to see….Ursh!

Friends and family want her to stay away from Chris Brown, police and attorneys want her to help them put him behind bars and she just wants to move on and be back with her man. She wants to be back with Chris because she never wanted or intended for this to go so far. She more than likely started most of this because he was driving. Think about if it were you and your boyfriend. He’s behind the wheel, getting text messages, you start grabbing at the phone and mugging him in the head, calling him names while speaking on your phone as well. A victim doesn’t throw the keys across the street because your in too much fear right? A victim doesn’t want to be stuck with somebody that’s abusing them and could inflict more danger. A fighter would throw the keys and say BITCH find em yaself, you won’t be seeing that bitch tonight! Come on y’all, half of what you saw on that one picture is how most women look after a drunken night. No makeup, smeared makeup and crying. The only thing from that picture that showed something happened was her forehead, and that’s strange anyway. Everybody was talking about scratches, bruises, busted lips etc. The pictures we’ve seen of her since, the girl has not one cut or scratch on her face. She can’t heal up that fast and cuts and scratches don’t go away that fast. My point is, you saw Rihanna after a fight, think about how y’all look after the makeup, glitz and glamor are gone. I’m not disputing that there was a fight, I’m just saying stop acting like his career is over cause its not. Stop acting like she didn’t hit him or fight back, cause you don’t know what happened. Lastly but not least the DA can’t even make their case yet so why is he already tried and convicted. If Rihanna wanted to she could’ve ended this already but she has reasons why she hasn’t spoken out. I think until she sets the record straight…..we should all chill out! Now they have reported today that the two are back together in one of Puff’s houses. I think they’ll be getting married soon. Mo

Brown was arrested two weeks ago on suspicion of making criminal threats against girlfriend Rihanna, attended his first class in Glendale, Calif., on Monday afternoon. According to a source, Brown opted for anger management at the behest of his spin doctor, Michael Sitrick. “Chris doesn’t actually have to go by law,” our insider tells us, “but he believes it will make him look better to the public, and he wants to try to get in a few classes before March 5,” his court date.     The Feb. 7 incident – in which Brown allegedly assaulted Rihanna and left her with cuts and bruises to her forehead, lips and cheeks – didn’t just stir up controversy. It tarnished Brown’s good-guy image so badly that several of his endorsement deals were suspended, including commercials for Wrigley’s gum and the Milk Mustache campaign. Brown’s songs have also been temporarily taken off the air at a handful of radio stations. But insiders are rumbling that Chris shouldn’t be taking the anger management classes alone. “Rihanna is temperamental, too,” says our snitch. “They’re both too hot-headed for their own good.”
    Adds another source: “It didn’t help that Rihanna grabbed the keys out of his rented Lamborghini and threw them down the street. She knew it would really infuriate Chris, and it worked.”
    Look for a Chris/Rihanna reunion soon, though – at least physically. The songbird, who celebrated her 21st birthday on Friday and is hanging out at home in Barbados, will be L.A.-bound to attend Brown’s trial.
    “She’ll be there – she has to testify,” confirms our snitch, who doesn’t foresee any jail time for Brown. “If Chris is convicted, it would be his first offense. He won’t go to prison. ”

Plus, his mom Joyce, who is said to adore Rihanna, sent over a bouquet of flowers. The attention seems to be working. RiRi may just reconcile with Brown, say sources. “Rihanna so wanted Chris with her on her big day, but obviously realizes why they can’t be together right now,” our insider says. “But it’s becoming more and more clear that she can’t be without him.”
    For the time being, the singer’s friends are helping keep her free of her allegedly abusive ex. Friday’s party — held in a rented house in the Hollywood Hills — had a Monte Carlo-worthy casino theme, with professional croupiers brought in to deal for the pop princess and a few choice friends. “Her theme was ‘Blackjack 21’ and all the guests gambled,” says the snitch. “And although there was alcohol available, Rihanna wasn’t drinking.” She is said to be healing quickly from her recent injuries. “She hasn’t scarred or anything,” the insider reports. “She was in a great mood. She was really celebrating not just her birthday, but life in general.”
    Following the intimate gathering, Rihanna hopped into a waiting car and jetted off to her native Barbados, where she finished out her birthday weekend with her mom.

They are turning into a pretty low class site if you ask me. You can’t really expect more from them though, their owned by Rupert Murdoch the owner of the NY Post and Fox News. I just think now celebrities are going to lose more than their privacy. Their going to lose the rights that normal citizens get and expect. They can’t go to hospitals, for fear of their records being looked at, leaked and sold to the highest bidder. They can’t report crimes and abuses to the police for those same reasons. Is there a way to maintain some integrity with the police and hospital records? It doesn’t appear to be.

    “At the request of the authorities, Rihanna is not commenting about the incident involving Chris Brown,” says the statement from her rep on Friday. “She wants to assure her fans that she remains strong, is doing well, and deeply appreciates the outpouring of support she has received during this difficult time.”
    The statement comes on her 21st birthday and a day after she was spotted in Los Angeles after spending nearly two weeks in seclusion.
    The singer was photographed Thursday heading to an airport the same night a graphic photo reportedly showing her battered face surfaced on the Internet, upsetting her father, who criticized police for their “sloppy work.”

    Prior to the statement, neither Rihanna nor her representatives had commented since the arrest of Brown, 19, on Feb. 8

    Los Angeles police have launched an internal investigation to determine who leaked a picture of a bruised and battered Rihanna to the media.
    Rihanna, 21, was allegedly attacked by her boyfriend, singer Chris Brown, on a Los Angeles street before the two were to perform at the Grammy Awards on February 8.
    “The unauthorized release of a domestic violence photograph immediately generated an internal investigation,” an L.A. police spokesman said in a statement. “The Los Angeles Police Department takes seriously its duty to maintain the confidentiality of victims of domestic violence. A violation of this type is considered serious misconduct, with penalties up to and including termination.”

It’s not up to Rihanna to do anything. The police have the evidence, the police reports are filed and its up to the prosecutors to charge Chris Brown and try him in a court of law. Rihanna has given a statement, pictures have been taken, they don’t even need her anymore. Even if they did, she can be forced to co-operate to a certain degree. Once the police arrive at an incident like this, it’s no longer up to the parties involved. The police make the case and the prosecutor’s try it. The end.

    “I didn’t believe it,” the 55-year-old salesman and freelance clothing designer told People. “They seemed pretty happy [when I saw them together in July]. I don’t know what went wrong… You think you know somebody, but you really don’t.”
    Rihanna is currently with girlfriends in Barbados while she heals but Fenty says, “There is some bruising. She will be alright. At some point, she will speak out. I hope she will stand up for women all over the world… If it were me, I’d move on.”

According to the police report, after Chris received a text message from a woman who wrote about getting together, an argument erupted. Initially, Rihanna would not tell cops what started the argument.
    She did, however, tell them that during the argument, he started hitting her. According to the police report, she ordered him to drive her home and “faked a call” to someone, saying things like, “He’s dropping me off. Make sure the cops are there.”
    Rihanna told cops the fake call enraged Brown. He said something to the effect of “You are really fu**ed up now. I’m going to kill you.” This statement is the basis of the criminal threats charge.
    At that point, according to the report, Brown allegedly began a violent attack with his fists. At some point, Rihanna took the keys out of the ignition and threw them outside.
    And there’s this. According to the police report, she told cops this was not the first time Brown hit her. She referred to it as an ongoing and escalating abusive relationship.

    We’re told the criminal threats charge is based on that one statement Brown allegedly made. As one law enforcement source told us, “It’s kinda weak, and the D.A. is not going to prosecute a high profile case like this unless it’s solid.” That’s why it was kicked back for further investigation.

    Chris Brown and Rihanna were having an argument right after the Clive Davis pre-Grammy party. The argument escalated and Rihanna took the keys to Chris’s rented Lamborghini and threw them out of the window. Chris tried to find the keys to no avail and then he lost it. E! News reports that this is what followed:
    He tried in vain to find the keys, then came back to the car, put his hands around her neck and, according to the insider, said, “I’m going to kill you!”
    According to the source, the 20-year-old “Disturbia” singer told police that she lost consciousness, and when she awoke, Brown had fled.
    According to the source, her right eye was blackened and badly swollen and she had hand prints on her arms. The responding officers were so concerned about her, they drove Rihanna to the hospital in their squad car instead of waiting for an ambulance. To continue reading click

    Officers took two sets of photographs of the banged-up singer, one at the scene and the second after she was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for treatment. Those photos were presumably among the evidence presented to the district attorney.

    The police did take pictures of Rihanna and they are reported to show major contusions on both sides of the singer’s face and there is serious swelling and bruising. Her lip is split and her nose was bloody. There was also bite marks on one of her arms and on several fingers. Rihanna also claims Brown struck her with his fists and that’s what did the damage.     The police department says in a release the 19-year-old R&B singer and a woman were in a vehicle in the Hancock Park neighborhood early Sunday when they began arguing.
    Police say Brown and the woman got out of the car and the argument escalated.
    Police say the woman identified Brown as her attacker. Officers say Brown wasn’t at the scene.
    A message left for Brown’s representative seeking comment wasn’t immediately returned.
