In the 20/20 interview airing tonight, Rihanna offers a graphic account of the fateful Feb. 7 confrontation with her then-boyfriend Chris Brown – including the terrifying blankness that seemed to come over him as he assaulted her.

She says all she kept thinking was, “When is it going to stop? When is it going to stop? He had no soul in his eyes. Just blank. He was clearly blacked-out. There was no person when I looked at him.”

The fight, she says, started when Brown received a text message from another woman while they were driving away from a Grammy Awards party.

“I caught him in a lie, and he wouldn’t tell the truth. And I wouldn’t drop it,” Rihanna tells Diane Sawyer in the interview, portions of which aired Friday morning on Good Morning America.

“I couldn’t take that he kept lying to me, and he couldn’t take that I wouldn’t drop it … It escalated into him being violent towards me. And it was ugly.”

How ugly? “I was battered, I was bleeding, I was swollen in my face,” she says. (more…)

The judge is trying to play the mommy role instead of her role as a judge. Look, I’m over the Chris Brown, Rihanna case. I feel like they are learning some hard lessons right now and they have to do it all in the public eye. At the same time I don’t feel like the judge should be able to determine if they get back together or not. The judge understands that Rihanna wanted the protective order lifted and yet she kept it in place for five years. I don’t think she kept it in place for any other reason except, this is a high profile case and she knows it’ll be in the news as soon as the two were seen together. Hell his domestic violence classes are for a whole year. Either the judge thinks the domestic violence classes will be effective or they won’t, which is it???
Judge Patricia Schnegg said during the sentencing, “I am not immune to the chatter on the airwaves.” She’s a judge, she should be immuned to it. Judges instruct juror’s during a case– not to listen to news and gossip surrounding cases as it may sway their opinions and influence them against the facts. She obviously forgot those lessons.

Rihanna and Chris Brown stayed at the same NYC hotel but did they hook up?

Could they be making sweet music again? Just days after Chris Brown publicly apologized for his February beating of then-girlfriend Rihanna, the two spent the weekend at the same luxury Midtown hotel under a cloak of secrecy. The pretty “Umbrella” singer and “Run It” crooner — who is barred from seeing his former squeeze by a restraining order issued in Los Angeles — checked into separate rooms at the Trump International Hotel & Tower on Friday, hotel sources said. They spent the next two days coming and going in separate chauffeured vehicles from the underground garage of the 52-story Columbus Circle building.
The two appear to have taken great measures to avoid public exposure, including the use of decoy vehicles to throw off reporters and photographers. As of last night, the secretive performers hadn’t been seen together. Neither Brown nor Rihanna had any public appearances or events to otherwise bring them to Manhattan, although London’s Daily Mail reported that Rihanna is shopping for a Big Apple pad. Last night,

Rihanna stayed away from the BET Awards show. Why we won’t know unless she tells somebody but that won’t stop us from speculating. Maybe Rihanna skipped the show because it was so high profile and at the end of the day it would boil down to—–did she and Chris stay 10 yards away and all that crap that has nothing to do with MJ, too stressful. So that might of been out of respect. Too much of a spectacle. Maybe it was a little pact between Ri and Chris. I can’t go, then I won’t go type of thing. Anyway homegirl is doing it in this black and white. She went out at the Gramercy Park Hotel in NYC.

Chris Brown is under court orders not to go within 50 yards of Rihanna, but both he and his ex want to get rid of the strict no-contact clause.
“They think it’s unnecessary and ridiculous,” says a mutual pal of the protection order handed down at Tuesday’s criminal proceeding, during which Brown pled guilty to one count of felony assault in the February attack that left Rihanna battered and bruised. “After [the proceeding], Ri and Chris talked on the phone for almost an hour and really worked at becoming friends. They’re solid now.”
