Janet Jackson isn’t hiding her thoughts on who’s to blame for her brother’s death.
Dr. Conrad Murray is at fault for Michael Jackson’s premature passing, she says.
“He was the one that was administering,” she tells ABC’s Robin Roberts in an exclusive interview airing Wednesday night. “I think he is responsible.”
Murray is still under investigation for the death, and has admitted to giving the icon the anesthetic propofol.
Placing blame isn’t the only thing Miss Jackson is spilling in the rare sit-down.
“I couldn’t believe it,” she says, recalling June 25 and the moment she found out her brother was deceased.
“I was at my house in New York,” she remembers. “You know, another day. Another morning. And I get a call…[my assistant] said, ‘Your brother’s been taken to the hospital. It’s on CNN right now.’ I called everyone…I spoke to Mother. I spoke to Tito. I spoke to my nephew Austin. I spoke to my sister La Toya.
“I told them to call me when they got to the hospital. And I remember thinking, nobody’s calling me back, so I tried calling again, and that’s how I found out that he was no longer.”
Not surprisingly, she was shocked.
“It didn’t ring true to me,” she recalls. “It felt like a dream. It’s still so difficult for me to believe.”
The public memorial service at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, she says, gave her a bit of closure.
Janet was understandably less open about people’s accusations that Joe Jackson was an abusive father.
“You have to keep in mind that I’m the baby,” the youngest of nine siblings circumvents. “I think it’s old-school. And that may extrapolate into, ah, being a little abusive. Do you understand what I’m saying?”
Overall, 2009 has been a difficult and eventful 365 days for the pop queen.
“It’s been a tough year,” she says. “You have your days where it’s just, really, it’s hard to believe. And a day doesn’t go by that I don’t think about him.”
Murray, for his part, hasn’t had a great year, either.
Jackson’s under-the-gun doc is due in court today for missing child-support payments.
His attorney Christopher Aaron says Murray was forced to shutter his medical practice and move as he received threats following Jackson’s death. Because he has been unable to find work since, Dr. Murray will be asking the Las Vegas judge to allow him to make minimum payments for the time being. source

Michael Jackson’s father is seeking an allowance from his son’s estate to help cover expenses that exceed $15,000 a month, according to court documents filed Friday. The request seeking an unspecified amount for Joe Jackson was filed by lawyer Brian Oxman, who said there was no apparent reason for the administrators of the estate to not seek an allowance for the Jackson family patriarch.

Michael Jackson’s 2002 will, however, omitted any mention of his father. The two had an often-strained relationship, and Michael Jackson said at one point that he would get physically sick — as a child and as an adult — at the sight of his father. The singer’s private trust calls for money to be paid to his mother, Katherine, his three young children, and various charities. A judge has approved more than $26,000 in payments to Katherine Jackson each month, and a $60,000 monthly payment for the care of the children.

The latest court documents said Joe Jackson receives a $1,700 monthly Social Security payment and had relied on his son for support for many years.

“He does not have a regular or steady source of income, and he was dependent upon the money provided by his son, Michael Jackson, through his wife, Katherine Jackson, for his support,” the filing stated.

“It was quite surprising to learn of the request,” Howard Weitzman, an attorney for the administrators of Jackson’s estate, said in a statement. “Mr. Jackson’s petition will be considered as are all requests for money from Michael’s estate.” source

Michael Jackson’s three children seem to be adjusting well to being raised by their grandmother, a judge said. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff is “very pleased” with the contents of an investigator’s report detailing how the children are doing three months after their father’s death. “It looks like the children are really doing wonderfully with their grandmother guardian,” Beckloff said in brief comments on the report during a hearing Friday.
Prince Michael, 12, Paris Jackson, 11, and Prince II, 7, have been in Katherine Jackson’s care since their father died in late June. Beckloff appointed Katherine Jackson as the children’s permanent guardian in August and asked for an update on their conditions.

The rain didn’t stop Michael Jackson fans from celebrating his birthday in Prospect Park Saturday, where thousands of one-gloved moonwalkers remembered the King of Pop. Famed director Spike Lee organized the massive dance party for what would have been the star’s 51st birthday.
“Fifty-one years ago, he was born into the world,” said Lee, who directed the “They Don’t Care About Us” music video for Jackson in 1996. “I’m like everybody else – somebody who loved his talent,” he said. “We’re here to celebrate Michael Jackson.”

Several thousand dancers packed themselves close together on the muddy Prospect Park grass facing a huge stage. Deejays played Jackson’s music spanning his whole career – from his childhood with the Jackson Five to his final tracks.There was a giant white birthday cake that read “Happy Birthday Michael Jackson” in red frosting. Balloons dotted the sky. The biggest cheers came late in the day when the deejay played one of Jackson’s best known hits, “Beat It.”

“I’ve been into Michael Jackson since I was 1 year old,” said Tariq Shade, 39, of Crown Heights, who wore a silver sequin glove on one hand. “I’ve always, always celebrated his birthday.”

“I don’t even remember life without him,” actor Tracy Morgan said at Saturday’s party. “Michael Jackson was everything.”

“Happy birthday, Michael!” yelled Purcell Nurse, 28, of Crown Heights. “I wasn’t able to go to one of his concerts, but I’ll always remember this concert.”

Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz took the stage to declare Aug. 29 “Michael ‘King of Pop’ Jackson Memorial Day” in Brooklyn.

“We all know Michael Jackson had fans around the world, but nowhere more than Brooklyn,” Markowitz said.

Brooklyn City Councilwoman Letitia James last week suggested adding “Jackson” to the Hoyt-Schermerhorn subway station’s name. The station served as an iconic backdrop for the 1987 music video of “Bad.”

Meilan Gee, 59, flew all the way from Los Angeles to attend the birthday party.

“I had to be here today,” she said. “I went to Neverland, his house, his mother’s house. I have to be wherever he is.”

Timbe Crump, 38, came from Milwaukee for the weekend and didn’t want to miss the bash.

“We planned the trip around this,” she said. “It’s a day to celebrate his life and his accomplishments.” source

Marijuana and numerous empty drug bottles were found by police officers at Michael Jackson’s home shortly after he died, according to search warrants unsealed on Thursday. WOW!

Two bags of marijuana, a bottle of temazepam (used to treat sleeplessness), empty bottles of the sedatives lorzaepam and diazepam were discovered during the search. They also found four other empty pill bottles with no indication as to what may have been in them. source

Debbie Rowe is disgusting. She doesn’t want the children she wants the rest of the money Michael Jackson was to pay her and that’s it. She has a close friend named Rebecca White and after Michael passed Rowe wrote her some emails discussing the children.

“I know she’s seeking custody of the children,” Rebecca reveals. “I think she wants the best for the children.” In an email dated July 2, 2009, Rowe’s writing suggests that she appears to be conflicted about going after her biological children — Prince Michael, 12, and Paris, 11. “I’m not going after custody,” Debbie writes to Rebecca. “These kids are not mine. They were never mine. They were always Michael’s. I was Michael’s best friend.”

Despite that email, Rebecca believes that Rowe is seeking custody. “I think things change on a daily basis,” White explains. “It’s not like she doesn’t love them. It’s not like she doesn’t want the best for them, but her life is different…The idea of being a mother to those children is something I don’t think she really wants. She can’t just sit back in the shadows and not say anything because then she will be looked at as the woman who gave up her children and that’s a horrible thing to say… She had to do something to protect them in a way.”

In an email from Debbie to Rebecca on July 5, Rowe seems to be changing her mind about seeking custody. “My lawyer is telling me I have to take some responsibility about the welfare of the children,” Rowe writes. “Do I want the kids? Hell no. Does it look good for me to ask for them? Absolutely. I don’t want to look like the woman who gave away her kids and just forgot about them. Would Michael want Joe to have them? I think it would be the last thing that he would ever have wanted.”

White admits that she believes Rowe is motivated to seek custody for financial gain. “The motivation is money,” Rebecca says. “I really have to be honest… If the children aren’t the ones she wants, what else will she gain from it?”
Rebecca also confirms that Rowe told her a secret custody deal is in the works. “Yes, absolutely,” White confirms. “In one text message she had just said, ‘Just wait until the 14th. Everything will be done after the 14th.’… There’s definitely going to be a secret deal. There’s definitely going to be a settlement that’s going to come out of this.”

Well this time, Rowe sold her parental rights to Katherine Jackson for a reported $4 million. “It’s one final payday,” the disgusted Jackson confidant said. The family isn’t happy about the mega-payout — which was set to be sealed in Los Angeles yesterday afternoon — but they consider it a necessary evil, the source said. “They felt it was like a ransom-type thing. [Rowe] jumped back into the picture because she wanted money,” the friend said.

After the birth of son Prince Michael, now 12, and daughter Paris, 11, she agreed to allow Jackson to raise them in exchange for a lump sum of $8 million, plus $900,000 annually for five years, the source said.
When Jackson was accused of child molestation in 2001, Rowe resurfaced to reclaim her rights. But she wound up giving her ex-husband full custody of the kids anyway — in exchange for another $4 million plus a $900,000 home. This time around, she is forfeiting her restored parental rights to Jackson’s mom, Katherine, in exchange for yet another roughly $4 million, the family source said. “This would be it. This takes away any rights she has to challenge custody at any given time,” the source said. “If something happens to Katherine, [Rowe] can’t challenge the next [guardian], whether that be Diana Ross or someone in the family.” Neither lawyers for Rowe nor Katherine Jackson returned phone calls or e-mails. While it had been thought that Rowe was demanding that Jacko’s abusive father, Joe, have nothing to do with the kids, the source said there is no such language in the agreement. Still, the family will keep him in check, the source said.

Magic said that was the greatest moment of his life. He couldn’t believe Mike ate Kentucky Fried Chicken. LOL. That is funny.

I think people are making to big of a deal about Joe Jackson and his statements in the media. Remember these things before we start to criticize him…..
1. Joe Jackson just lost his son and didn’t have anytime to mourn because somebody had to represent the Jackson family and take on the press. What if he didn’t do the interviews? Who would’ve and what info would they have given…..very little I’m sure.
2. Nobody ever said the Jackson’s were normal, so why would they start being normal now. Why should the Jackson’s start acting and grieving the way we think that they should?
3. Joe Jackson is old school. He only knows one way to handle things—his way. He’s been in this business for what 50 years??? So some of this stuff is natural instincts.
4. Mr. Jackson is 80 years old so give him a break. Think about your grandfather doing press. Would he embarrass you? Probably so!
5. Where the hell do you think Michael Jackson got his shrewd business skills from?
6. No matter what you think, Michael Jackson is Joe Jackson’s son. I wish somebody would tell people why I shouldn’t be speaking about my son or how to go about it. Nobody knows about their relationship or if they came to peace or some kind of understanding. Not Nancy Graces, not Deepak Chopra, nobody.

Lisa Marie Presley took to her blog recently to reveal a few interesting details. The first was that Michael knew he would die this way. She said they were discussing her father’s death and Michael said “I am afraid that I am going to end up like him, the way he did.” The second was that her marriage to Michael Jackson, despite press reports, was real and not a sham. She says she failed him because she and many others new of his dependency on drugs. This dependency was also the reason she had to leave him. Presley says she had children to care for and she was losing herself trying to save Michael. Flip the lid to read her words:

He Knew.

Years ago Michael and I were having a deep conversation about life in general. I can’t recall the exact subject matter but he may have been questioning me about the circumstances of my Fathers Death. At some point he paused, he stared at me very intensely and he stated with an almost calm certainty, “I am afraid that I am going to end up like him, the way he did.” I promptly tried to deter him from the idea, at which point he just shrugged his shoulders and nodded almost matter of fact as if to let me know, he knew what he knew and that was kind of that. 14 years later I am sitting here watching on the news an ambulance leaves the driveway of his home, the big gates, the crowds outside the gates, the coverage, the crowds outside the hospital, the Cause of death and what may have led up to it and the memory of this conversation hit me, as did the unstoppable tears. A predicted ending by him, by loved ones and by me, but what I didn’t predict was how much it was going to hurt when it finally happened. The person I failed to help is being transferred right now to the LA County Coroners office for his Autopsy. All of my indifference and detachment that I worked so hard to achieve over the years has just gone into the bowels of hell and right now I am gutted. I am going to say now what I have never said before because I want the truth out there for once. Our relationship was not “a sham” as is being reported in the press. It was an unusual relationship yes, where two unusual people who did not live or know a “Normal life” found a connection, perhaps with some suspect timing on his part. Nonetheless, I do believe he loved me as much as he could love anyone and I loved him very much. I wanted to “save him” I wanted to save him from the inevitable which is what has just happened. His family and his loved ones also wanted to save him from this as well but didn’t know how and this was 14 years ago. We all worried that this would be the outcome then. At that time, In trying to save him, I almost lost myself. He was an incredibly dynamic force and power that was not to be underestimated. When he used it for something good, It was the best and when he used it for something bad, It was really, REALLY bad. Mediocrity was not a concept that would even for a second enter Michael Jackson’s being or actions. I became very ill and emotionally/ spiritually exhausted in my quest to save him from certain self-destructive behavior and from the awful vampires and leeches he would always manage to magnetize around him. I was in over my head while trying. I had my children to care for, I had to make a decision. The hardest decision I have ever had to make, which was to walk away and let his fate have him, even though I desperately loved him and tried to stop or reverse it somehow. After the Divorce, I spent a few years obsessing about him and what I could have done different, in regret. Then I spent some angry years at the whole situation. At some point, I truly became Indifferent, until now. As I sit here overwhelmed with sadness, reflection and confusion at what was my biggest failure to date, watching on the news almost play by play The exact Scenario I saw happen on August 16th, 1977 happening again right now with Michael (A sight I never wanted to see again) just as he predicted, I am truly, truly gutted. Any ill experience or words I have felt towards him in the past has just died inside of me along with him. He was an amazing person and I am lucky to have gotten as close to him as I did and to have had the many experiences and years that we had together. I desperately hope that he can be relieved from his pain, pressure and turmoil now. He deserves to be free from all of that and I hope he is in a better place or will be. I also hope that anyone else who feels they have failed to help him can be set free because he hopefully finally is. The World is in shock but somehow he knew exactly how his fate would be played out some day more than anyone else knew, and he was right. I really needed to say this right now, thanks for listening.

Debra Opri, the attorney for Katherine and Joe Jackson has stated that Michael Jackson was the sole custodian of his children. Their mother gave up any and all parental rights to them and that plans were in place for the children in the event of his death. Opri stated that she’s 100% sure that the children will be raised by Katherine Jackson.

Brian Oxmond says he feared this day, he warned family and friends of this day. He also said if this day (sudden death for Michael Jackson) ever came he wouldn’t be silent about his fears of abuse of medication. Oxmond says it could have possibly been an infection, some type of heart disease but he won’t count out drug use, issued by Michael Jackson’s physician. It is said that Michael was or has been injected with Demerol a prescription drug for pain. He said Michael was always in fine physical condition. Michael was under extreme medications and being enabled by people surrounding him including doctor’s.

Last month, Michael Jackson began his campaign to cancel a huge auction of his personal belongings. Now, a week before the auction, the King of Pop has gotten his way. Auctioneer Darren Julien told Reuters that he has reached an agreement with Jackson that will see the items returned to Jackson after the public exhibit of the 1,400 lots is over. The auction was to be held on April 22-25 and included Jackson’s customized Rolls-Royce, costumes, memorabilia, art and custom furnishings. It could have brought in $10 million or more.

It would have been the largest authorized of Jackson’s belongings and Julien’s Auction House spared no expense in putting the auction together. The Reuters article says that Darren Julien spent as much $2 million preparing the sale and the exhibit even creating a signed and numbered five-volume catalog that would sell for $500. Jackson is believed to have paid some money in a settlement with the auction house that may result in some of the items finding a permanent public home in some sort of museum-like space.
