Maxwell landed at the top of the charts with 316,000 albums sold. So happy to see real music, real artists making debuts like this. He hasn’t put out an album in over 8 years. Record labels should pay attention to real music instead of faddish dances.

Maxwell’s new album BLACKsummers’night, which is his first release in eight years, should debut at #1 on next weeks charts. Maxwell is predicted to sell between 275-300K. When is the last time an R&B or Hip Hop album sold more than 40, 50, or 60K in its first week? It’s been a while.
