Why do gay people feel like it’s okay to call other people, (gay or straight) faggots— but if you call a gay person a faggot, its so derogatory and offensive?

Wanda Sykes comes out the closet and I didn’t even know she was gay. Heres a little of what she had to say at a gay rights rally in Las Vegas on Saturday.
“You know, I don’t really talk about my sexual orientation. I didn’t feel like I had to. I was just living my life, not necessarily in the closet, but I was living my life. Everybody that knows me personally they know I’m gay. But that’s the way people should be able to live their lives.” Sykes says she feels attacked by the passage of Proposition 8.
“Now, I gotta get in their face,” she said. “I’m proud to be a woman. I’m proud to be a black woman, and I’m proud to be gay.”

Talk show host Ellen Degeneres has only recently become involved in the campaign to defeat Proposition 8 in California. But on today’s show, Ellen gave an emotional speech on Sarah Palin, a federal ban on gay marriage, and equal rights in general.

Some of Ellen’s comments:
“I don’t know what people are scared of. Maybe they think that their children will be influenced. And I gotta say I was raised by two heterosexuals. I was surrounded by heterosexuals just everywhere I looked heterosexuals. And they did not influence…. I mean I dabbled in high school, who didn’t?”
“People are gonna be who they’re gonna be. And we need to learn to love them for who they are and let them love who they want to love.”

Ray J: F— that mother—–. Man, that n—-’s a bitch. He’s a thief. He tried to take my records and pull me off of television shows and put Marques Houston on the shows, basically replace me. It was a lot of weird things going on over there and I felt like he was trying to dig into my money and try to compromise my career. He and Marques Houston take it in the butt together. I’m real, so I say it how I see it.
