The December cover of O magazine features Oprah of course, accompanied by Ellen Degeneres. Ellen campaigned for months to get this cover and her wishes have finally been granted. This is only the second time anyone has graced the cover besides the talk show queen herself. The first appearance with Oprah on the magazine was Michelle Obama. Nice cover!
Talk show host Ellen Degeneres has only recently become involved in the campaign to defeat Proposition 8 in California. But on today’s show, Ellen gave an emotional speech on Sarah Palin, a federal ban on gay marriage, and equal rights in general.
Some of Ellen’s comments:
“I don’t know what people are scared of. Maybe they think that their children will be influenced. And I gotta say I was raised by two heterosexuals. I was surrounded by heterosexuals just everywhere I looked heterosexuals. And they did not influence…. I mean I dabbled in high school, who didn’t?”
“People are gonna be who they’re gonna be. And we need to learn to love them for who they are and let them love who they want to love.”
