    Chris Brown is getting good reviews and reports from the courts. The court is the only review that counts right now. At Brown’s first checkup, Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg said she had received “an extremely favorable progress report” on him from the probation department. Chris Brown is following all the rules of his probation and sentence. Judge Schnegg said he provided the court with DNA samples, paid all fines and court fees, performed more than 100 hours of community service and completed seven domestic violence classes to date. Good for him.

    Chris Brown says he isn’t quite ready to get back into the dating scene.

    “I’ve been kinda chillin’,” he tells MTV News. “I mean, I’m Chris Brown. I’m not saying it like that, but it’s just, like, girls are gonna be around. I love women. But I would say I’ve just been chillin’. I haven’t really been trying to get into a relationship or trying to date anybody. I’ve just kinda been working on me. Like I said, just really getting me straight.”

    This is Chris Brown’s response to Rihanna’s interview with Diane Sawyer:
    While I respect Rihanna’s right to discuss the specific events of February 8, I maintain my position that all of the details should remain a private matter between us. I do appreciate her support and wish her the best. I am extremely sorry for what I did, and I accept accountability for my actions. At this point, I am taking the proper steps to learn about me and grow from my mistakes. I only hope that others in similar situations can learn from our experience as well. Abuse of any kind is always wrong. The rest I leave it to God. –

    While Chris Brown vows he’ll abide by all the conditions of his recent sentencing for assaulting Rihanna – including six months of community labor and five years’ probation – he’s eager to get the most out of the court-ordered counseling and anger-management classes.

    “I want to understand my feelings,” Brown, 20, says. “I want to find out what really transpired as far as me that night. Sometimes when you’re young you don’t know how to express [your emotions], so I think it actually would be helpful to talk to a counselor or to somebody who has an expertise in what those [feelings] are.”

    According to Brown’s Aug. 5 probation review, the R&B singer “has already looked into some domestic violence programs, showing that he is taking some initiatives to address this issue.”

    Explains Brown: “I wanted to take the counseling upon myself and … just talk to someone. I just need to talk to someone. I wanted to understand the problem at hand.”

    Brown tsays he doesn’t think he has an “anger problem,” but says he’s keeping an open mind. “If I do, I will work with my counselor and hopefully channel my anger into something like dancing,” says Brown, who insists he’ll never let himself lose control again. “I don’t think I would get that mad again. I want to be a man, so I have to be more responsible …. I’d rather walk away.”

    I just want to say from the bottom of my heart thank you for your continued support. I’m sorry I wasn’t allowed to speak to anyone as this case was on going. I can now say this has been the most painful moment in my entire life, but knowing that you were still standing by Chris side in his time of need made this a little easier for us. Because of all your prayers God brought him through. I just want to say God has never failed me and never will. All moms and dads please stand by your children and pray for their goodness each and everyday. Chris and I love you so much, as the tears fall from my eyes and the pain lingers in my heart I still say thank you God, thank you thank you almighty God. If any of you wonder why I continue to speak of God it’s because I know no other way. I made a promise to him I would never be ashamed of him no matter where I am or who I talk to.     A Los Angeles judge postponed sentencing singer Chris Brown on Wednesday, saying she wants documents guaranteeing he’ll do roadside cleanup or other hard labor. Judge Patricia Schnegg told the R&B star that she doesn’t want him doing easy community service but rather 1,400 hours of “community labor” as his sentence.
    “I do not favor community service,” said Schnegg, explaining that she wants to see Brown, 20, outdoors picking up trash or cleaning up graffiti.

    Instead of jail time, Brown plea bargained for five years’ probation, 180 days of community labor and 52 weeks of domestic violence counseling. The judge told Brown she was delaying his sentencing to Aug. 27 because she had yet to receive documents from the State of Virginia specifying the type of community labor he’ll be assigned. Dressed in a pink shirt and a charcoal-colored suit, Brown answered “Yeah” when asked if he agreed to the postponement. Rihanna’s lawyer, Donald Etra, appeared at the hearing to ask the court to ditch an order of protection barring Brown from coming within 50 yards of Rihanna. Etra did not get a chance to make the request Wednesday.

    “We were obviously hoping that all proceedings would be concluded today. We’re just going to have to wait until Aug. 27,” said Etra, adding that Rihanna “is doing great.”

    This Wednesday Chris Brown will officially get sentenced. Rihanna won’t be present but she will be requesting that the judge drop that Stay Away Order against Chris.

    Rihanna wants a less restrictive order so that they can at least see and talk to each other. As it stands they can’t talk on the phone or come within 50 yards of one another.

    Chris Brown and Amber Rose were apparently responsible for some of the fireworks this past 4th of July weekend. Brown and Rose locked lips at the July 4 White Party thrown by Sean (Diddy) Combs and Ashton Kutcher in Beverly Hills, spies told the Daily News. Chris Brown came to the party with Teyana Taylor but quickly hooked up with Amber Rose. “Diddy announced the deejay would do a tribute to Michael Jackson,” said a guest. “Chris did an amazing impression of Michael’s moonwalk. It wasn’t long before he was dancing with Amber.” Later, as the party wound down, the pair nestled on a couch in the backyard of the Beverly Hills mansion. “They were holding hands and making out in the shadows,” said a witness. “She had her hand on his leg.” They all later went to an after-party at the club Guys. There, Brown again got upclose and personal with Rose, who is 26. “They were kissing on the dance floor in front of Teyana,” said a witness. “But he and Amber left separately.”

    Chris Brown was a no-show at Sunday night’s BET Awards because producers pulled his performance at the last minute. According to several insiders, Brown’s appearance was considered risky business on a night honoring Michael Jackson. The “No Air” singer is facing negative publicity after pleading guilty to the February assault of his ex-girlfriend Rihanna.
    One source says Brown’s absence came at the insistence of the Rev. Al Sharpton. “Al made such a fuss to the BET executives that they pulled Chris,” says our insider, who adds that Jay-Z also had a hand in the decision. “Jay is a big name in the BET community, and he was very vocal about his displeasure with Chris attending the ceremony. He didn’t want Chris anywhere near the awards so close to the court’s ruling.”
    Chris isn’t taking the public dis on the chin, either. “He’s furious,” a pal of the singer tells us. “BET asked him to perform and waited until the last minute to tell him it was off. He’s pretty shocked and outraged right now.”
    Both BET publicists and Brown’s camp say the singer was never confirmed for the show.

    Chris Brown is under court orders not to go within 50 yards of Rihanna, but both he and his ex want to get rid of the strict no-contact clause.
    “They think it’s unnecessary and ridiculous,” says a mutual pal of the protection order handed down at Tuesday’s criminal proceeding, during which Brown pled guilty to one count of felony assault in the February attack that left Rihanna battered and bruised. “After [the proceeding], Ri and Chris talked on the phone for almost an hour and really worked at becoming friends.     Chris Brown, 20, was facing up to 4 years and 8 months behind bars but today he and his lawyers have brokered a plea deal in his assault case. He’ll spend 180 days in a labor diversion program in Virginia. In the diversion program he’ll be picking up trash or cleaning graffiti for 8 hours a day. He will also get 5 years of supervised probation for felony assault that he pled guilty for. He must check in with the courts every three months and enter a domestic violence counseling program. Chris arrived in court first with his mother. Rihanna’s lawyer arrived and she followed later. You could tell that a deal was on the way because the judge allowed camera’s to come inside the courtroom, they had previously been banned.

    No matter how many times Chris Brown’s attorney tries to press pause on his assault case, it looks like it’s finally time for the R&B star to face the music. The California Supreme Court has refused to postpone a make-or-break preliminary hearing scheduled for Monday, which will effectively determine whether there is enough evidence for the 20-year-old to stand trial over his alleged beat-down of Rihanna. Among the more newsworthy elements of next week’s hearing is the planned testimony of Rihanna herself; the singer, through her attorney mouthpiece, has long claimed that she will cooperate fully with the prosecution and she was subpoenaed to take the stand earlier this month.

    Brown’s attorney Mark Geragos had previously sought to delay the proceedings by taking his chief hang-up—namely, his inability to obtain police records of their internal investigation into the leaked police photo—to the case’s presiding judge in Los Angeles Superior Court. It was denied. Then last month, the 2nd District Court of Appeal rejected his bid to have the decision overturned, leading Geragos to take his request to the state’s Supreme Court.Where, apparently, his luck didn’t improve.  At issue is a pending, and unrelated, case in the California Supreme Court that could potentially change the time line of when such files are handed over. As it stands under current law, Geragos and his team will only be allowed access to the records after the preliminary hearing (aka Monday’s showdown); he wants them before. source

    Mark Geragos is the lawyer for Chris Brown and he has just filed several motions to get to the bottom of the Rihanna picture DISTRIBUTION (wasn’t no damn leak) to TMZ. Geragos motions asked for internal police records of the distributed photo. Of course the LAPD hasn’t done a good job of investigating themselves as their case on the photo is still open. The picture has tainted the public against Chris Brown and could possibly be the reason for him getting off.
    Brown, who turned 20 on Tuesday, has pleaded not guilty to felony assault and making criminal threats.

    Chris Brown turned 20 and did it quietly. Breezy’s birthday was Tuesday, he layed low on his special day, spending time with his family in Virginia. According to a source, Brown recently had a small birthday celebration with friends and family, also in Virginia.
    Last month, Brown plead not guilty to two felony counts – assault and making criminal threats – in the alleged Feb. 8 beating of Rihanna. The on-again, off-again pair have spent time apart lately, but reunited briefly in L.A. last month before Rihanna headed to her native Barbados.

    Asked how she was on the carpet outside the Met party, the singer smiled but did not answer. Inside at the bash, after Kanye West finished his set, partygoers erupted in cheers when Rihanna – still clad in her power suit – joined the rapper onstage for a duet of his tune, “Say You Will.” She then sang her hit, “Live Your Life.”

    The prosecution’s case against Chris Brown might be drifting away all because of those leaked photo’s of Rihanna. This is exactly what Chris’ lawyer, Mark Geragos is shooting for. Today a Los Angeles Superior Court Judge set a preliminary hearing for May 28 on Brown’s double felony case—the result of Geragos pushing for as late a court date as possible to allow him adequate time to respond to the still-pending investigation into just how Rihanna’s police photo was released.

    Should the gruesome photos’ appearance prove to be the result of a police transgression, Geragos told E! News that he will move to have Brown’s entire case dismissed. “The leaks can form the basis for a motion to dismiss the case in regards to outrageous governmental misconduct,” Geragos said.
    At the request of the singer’s attorney, Donald Etra, Judge Schnegg agreed to release the nearly $1.4 million worth of jewels Rihanna had donned the night of the incident. The jewels were taken into police custody, along with a bloodstained Gucci gown, as evidence in the case.

    Progress has been made on a plea deal for Chris Brown. Brown is facing two felony charges for his altercation with Rhianna. Cops say he brutally beat her in his car on Feb. 8. Court action in the case resumes Wednesday when the parties will try to set a date for Brown’s preliminary hearing. He’s charged with assault likely to cause great bodily injury and making criminal threats.

    Brown signed a waiver and is not expected to be in court Wednesday. Meanwhile, one source close to the situation says progress has been made on plea deal talks. Even so, that source tells RadarOnline.com, there are still issues to be worked out and a deal is “close, but not imminent.” The source says barring a last-minute breakthrough it is unlikely a deal will be announced Wednesday but both sides have moved closer together.
    It is still uncertain what is preventing a deal from being closed by the District Attorney’s office and Brown’s attorney Mark Geragos.

    In a soft voice, the 19-year-old platinum-selling artist entered his plea in LA Superior Court to felony charges of assault and making criminal threats. Rihanna, 21, who has reportedly accepted Brown back as her beau, skipped the hearing, but sent her lawyer, Donald Etra. Dressed in black tuxedo pants and a black cardigan sweater, Brown stood next to his lawyer, Mark Geragos. Brown’s mother, Joyce Hawkins, sat in the front row, her eyes red rimmed as she watched Geragos coach her son through the plea hearing.

    Brown was ordered to return to court April 29 for another hearing. If convicted, Brown faces a 5-year prison sentence. Brown’s lawyers have been in “intense” negotiations to over a plea deal that would spare the jail time. Prosecutors declined comment. Etra said that Rihanna, who flew to her native Barbados earlier Monday for a family celebration, “would be pleased if this were over quickly.”

    “I believe that there are efforts on behalf of all of the parties to resolve the case the expeditiously, to see if the case can be resolved prior to preliminary hearing,” Etra said. “I think that would benefit everybody.”

    Chris Brown’s lawyer and the prosecutor in the Rihanna case have been engaged in “serious” plea bargain negotiations and according to one source, a “deal is close.” Chris Brown will plead not guilty, however the plea may just be a formality.
    Sources say Rihanna has made it clear she does not want to testify in the case and wants Brown to cop a plea. We’re told one of the reasons she’s in Barbados right now is because “she wants to be as far away from this case as possible.”

    Brown was inclined to plead either guilty or no contest to a misdemeanor, provided he got no jail time.
    Brown will be in court tomorrow for the arraignment.

He basically told her, that it’s his house and he has the right to loan it to a friend as a favor if he wants. He said the two needed to talk and he was being a friend by not passing judgment because none of us know what happened in that car. I’m glad that he stepped up and let people know that Chris Brown hasn’t been convicted of anything so we don’t have the right to accuse him or convict him of anything. Lord knows Puff has had enough trials to understand what their going through.

Today, Chris Brown will get his day in court. He will find out if the case, for his alleged beatdown of girlfriend Rihanna will proceed or be thrown out. The prosecutor’s will finally have to charge him or dismiss it altogether. Blood was found in his car, pictures were taken and a statement where Rihanna allegedly said this wasn’t their first fight and things…. as far as the violence had been escalating. To make things even stickier for the prosecution, the two have been back together since the fight. Luckily for the prosecutor’s, they don’t really need the victim to testify if the police do their jobs correctly. Brown’s lawyer, Mark Geragos has been working all week to get him a plea deal.

Chris Brown only has to come back if they file charges against him. Rihanna personally hasn’t filed any charges against Chris and the two are reported to have been having conversations. Can’t wait to see how this one ends.

    The 19-year-old R&B singer also said much of what has been reported of the incident is untrue, although he did not elaborate.

    “Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God’s help, to emerging a better person,” Brown said in a statement issued through publicist Michael Sitrick.

    “Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and-or reported in the media is wrong,” he added. But he said he couldn’t discuss that in detail until his case is resolved.

    He also said he has not posted any comments about the incident on Facebook or any other Web site. “Those posts or writings under my name are frauds,” he said.

According to the police report, after Chris received a text message from a woman who wrote about getting together, an argument erupted. Initially, Rihanna would not tell cops what started the argument.
    She did, however, tell them that during the argument, he started hitting her. According to the police report, she ordered him to drive her home and “faked a call” to someone, saying things like, “He’s dropping me off. Make sure the cops are there.”
    Rihanna told cops the fake call enraged Brown. He said something to the effect of “You are really fu**ed up now. I’m going to kill you.” This statement is the basis of the criminal threats charge.
    At that point, according to the report, Brown allegedly began a violent attack with his fists. At some point, Rihanna took the keys out of the ignition and threw them outside.
    And there’s this. According to the police report, she told cops this was not the first time Brown hit her. She referred to it as an ongoing and escalating abusive relationship.

    We’re told the criminal threats charge is based on that one statement Brown allegedly made. As one law enforcement source told us, “It’s kinda weak, and the D.A. is not going to prosecute a high profile case like this unless it’s solid.” That’s why it was kicked back for further investigation.

Brown turned himself in around 7 p.m. last night and was interviewed by a detective. According to law enforcement records, Brown, 19, was taken into custody at 6:30 p.m. and was officially booked for making criminal threats. He posted $50,000 bail and was released.
    He is due back in court March 5.

He is under investigation for an alleged domestic violence felony battery that occurred early this morning near Hancock Park in L.A. The victim (police won’t release her name though we suspect its Rihanna) states that she and Chris were arguing and it became violent. The victim had visible injuries and she identified Chris Brown as her attacker. Chris left the scene before police arrived but has now turned himself in. Story still developing……
