Bring it Sasha! Homegirl got hella moves, sexy, freaky-ish moves in this video. Lady Gaga does a good job of keeping up with Beyonce but her thin hair blowing everywhere and her horse like features were a little distracting. Overall this was a good video. Kudos to both.

Lady Gaga has a new nickname after collaborating with Beyoncé. The zany dresser channeled the sexy and sleek style of the R&B pop princess — so well, she was nicknamed “Gee-yoncé” during the making of the video. Paparazzi photos from the “Video Phone” shoot show Gaga in an outfit that looks in line with Beyoncé’s sleeker style — a white strapless leotard, matching opera gloves and long, flowing hair. “When I was doing her video with her, she called me, and she said, ‘What do you want to do?’” Gaga revealed in an interview with New York’s Z100 radio station on Tuesday morning. “And I’m like, ‘I don’t want to show up in some frickin’ hair bow and be fashion Gaga in your video.’ I said, ‘I want to do you.’” In the same interview, Gaga said she just wanted to “do my version of Beyoncé, so the whole time I was learning the choreography they were calling me Gee-yoncé.” “Video Phone” is Beyoncé’s next single from the album “I Am…Sasha Fierce.” Gaga also mentioned that she and Beyoncé are working on music together, but did not elaborate on the details. source

Competition in the celebrity fragrance market just got a little fiercer. Beyonce has officially signed a deal with Coty Inc. — the same company who is responsible for Halle Berry, Sarah Jessica Paker and Gwen Stefani’s scents — to produce her own perfume. “For me, fragrance reflects a woman’s attitude and unique sense of style,” Beyonce told WWD. “While I love various perfumes, I haven’t found a scent that truly personifies me as a woman. Working with Coty, I was able to turn my ideal fragrance into a reality by creating an alluring and sophisticated fragrance; one that’s reflective of my inner power.”

And while this is Beyonce’s first shot at creating a scent, the superstar singer has fronted fragrance campaigns such as Tommy Hillfiger’s True Star in 2004 and Emporio Armani’s Diamonds fragrance in 2007. No details on what her scent will smell like, but Beyonce’s fragrance is set to hit stores this spring. source

Billboard is honoring Beyonce with the Woman of the Year Award at the 2009 Billboard Women In Music Event on October 2nd in New York.

“Beyoncé is multi-platinum artist and a multi-talented woman who clearly embodies the qualities of excellence and achievement that the Billboard Woman Of The Year Award was created to honor,” said Bill Werde, Billboard’s Editorial Director, about Beyoncé, who is the only performer in the 51-year history of the Billboard Hot 100 to top the chart for 10 weeks or more with a group and as a solo artist. “She has not only influenced pop culture with her hit songs and signature dance moves, but has inspired women everywhere with her unique style, business savvy and dedication to charitable causes.”

The Billboard Women in Music Event celebrates the most powerful and talented women in the music business and is also held in conjunction with the Women In Music Power Players List issue, which recognizes the top female music executives who are leading the industry with their artistic and business vision.

The honor, given to a female recording artist that has inspired the music business with her success, leadership and new ideas, will be awarded to the singer for her accomplishments over the past 12 months.

It was a collision course that couldn’t have been avoided.

Croatian authorities have opted not to bring charges against a bodyguard for Jay-Z and Beyoncé after he roughed up some paparazzi and purportedly damaged one shutterbug’s property.

Police in the medieval port city of Dobrovnik told TMZ that the guard was ordered to pay a fine but will not face legal action for allegedly going overboard in shielding the couple from having their picture taken by the snappers. Video footage of the encounter showed Jay-Z’s minder scuffling in an alley with several photographers who were staking out the rapper and his songstress wife as they left a restaurant and returned to their luxury yacht.
Three of the paps told police the guard threatened and manhandled them, while Jay-Z is heard in the background shouting, “Let’s go, let’s go, don’t worry about it” and “Stop stop stop.” The bodyguard later allegedly threw one of the photogs’ tripods into the Adriatic. source

Beyonce paid tribute to Michael Jackson during the 2009 Essence Music Festival. She played a private home video of her as an excited five year old, preparing to attend a MJ concert. Beyonce told the audience, “That night I saw my hero perform… when I saw Michael Jackson hit the stage, that’s when I decided who I wanted to be.” Then an image of MJ appeared on the big screen and Beyonce sang an altered version of Halo celebrating Michael Jackson.

Beyonce helped announce Feeding America’s Show Your Helping Hand Campaign at Madison Square Garden in New York City. In conjunction with her ‘I Am’ North American tour, Beyonce hopes to help Feeding America deliver millions of meals to local food banks.

“Through the work I do with my Survivor Foundation, I’ve been committed to helping families get back on their feet in difficult times,” says Beyonce. “That’s why I’m excited to get involved in this effort to help Feeding America deliver more than 3.5 million meals to local food banks. If we all show a helping hand, together we can make a difference in the fight against hunger.”

Here is a little bit from Beyonce’s interview with Self magazine.
On her weight:
“I’m not one of those people who doesn’t have to work at it,” the singer-actress, 27, tells the June issue of Self magazine. “I can’t eat what I want, and I can’t not go to the gym.
“I’m trying to do as much cardio as I can, so if I have a really long day of dancing [in rehearsals], then I’ll run maybe three miles,” Knowles told the magazine a few days before her I Am… tour kicked off. “If not, then I’ll run 6,” she continues. And that doesn’t include her weight routine. “I’ll put on a song that I really like and do [biceps curls with] 5-pound weights [for] the whole song and just try to burn out,” she says.

Beyonce doesn’t want the muscular, gym-toned look either:
“To me, sexier when it doesn’t look like you go to the gym. If you look like you’ve been spending a lot of time in the gym, then it just looks like you spend a lot of time in the gym. “So I never want to get to that point where it’s not natural,” she goes on. “I think it’s important to feel like a woman, as well as look like a woman.”

She tries to avoid weight extremes as well.

“I feel best when I’m not really thin and not really heavy, like now, when I’m still curvy,” she tells Self. “I really believe that everyone is supposed to be different, and whatever is a natural weight for you is usually what looks best.”

Knowles admits “there are no quick, easy secrets.
“The truth is, it’s a lot of sacrifice. It’s more about your mental strength than physical strength,” she says. “You have to push yourself. It doesn’t matter what trainer you have. And it doesn’t matter what program you’re on. You have to be healthy and make the right choices.”

To say motivated, Knowles keeps a painting of an Oscar at the gym — so when she’s on the treadmill, she’s running toward her goal. “I look at it, and I’m like, ‘OK, I have to stay in shape,’” she says. Her second tactic: shopping. “I buy something too small and then say ‘I have a reason! I need to wear these jeans or this hot dress!’” And when she’s on tour, she just needs to glance at her Thierry Mugler costumes to keep her eating in line. “[All it takes is to] do a fitting and see that my costume doesn’t fit anymore,” she says. “I know I have to keep things in all the right places!” But every once in awhile, she can’t resist the urge to eat what she wants. “When I’m completely overwhelmed and tired, comfort food helps. I’ll want to have some ice cream. Or when the tour is behind, I’m like, I just want some Krispy Kremes!” she says. “There’s too much good food out there to never indulge.” She relaxes or escapes the diet when she’s not on tour. “When I’m off, I feel like I’ve earned [the right] to eat what I want, and I give myself a certain amount of time,” she says.

It certainly has been a big year for Beyonce. Last April, she married Jay-Z, 39, and the busy couple work hard to spend time together. “We try to sync our calendars,” Knowles says. “I started working on my tour a year ago just to make sure that I had time at home. But you know, that’s part of it. Any other woman who has to go to work and pick up the kids and make dinner – that’s way harder than what I have to do. At least I can say I’m taking two weeks off and really take two weeks off.”

She might even be ready for a longer break. “My priorities are slowly changing,” she reveals in the interview. “So after this tour I might be tired and want to take two years off. I’ve worked hard enough to be able to do that. I’m in a very good place.”

Who also might welcome a break from touring? Her mother, Tina, who accompanies her on the road. Tina tells the magazine, “I’m always the person to make her go to bed.”

Obama’s made Beyonce cry:

Before Beyoncé Knowles performed “At Last” for Barack and Michelle Obama’s first dance as President and First Lady in January, the singer – who has said her onstage alter ego is the aggressive Fierce – was overcome by emotion.
“I had to tell myself, ‘They asked you to do this. You have to do a great job. This is their history. Calm down. Calm down,’” she admits in the June issue of Marie Claire. “I barely made it. Literally seconds before the song started, I was crying like a 5-year-old.”
But she remains proud of that moment – and all of her accomplishments so far. “Fifteen years from now, I want to be able to look back and say ‘Wow.’ That’s where I was at 27. That was my best.”

If there’s one thing that we’ve learned from the careers of Beyonce and Solange, is that the two of them love and respect their father. That being said, they would never disrespect him or publicly let a bullsh!t story like this out. If Beyonce were to disagree with her dad, she could do it respectfully, professionally and discreetly. Beyonce is a megastar, she know’s how to say yes, no, and even record an album on her own if need be, so fall back…just another gossip based media story.
