Ashanti was out in L.A. at a function for the Boys & Girls Club called “Million Meal Summer” looking pretty darn good and happy I might add.

Ashanti was in New York City unveiling her “Be Amazing” Boys and Girls Club Billboard in Times Square.


Last night was the opening of The Wiz and Nelly showed up to support Ashanti. Haven’t seen these two out and about together for a while. Good to see them back on again.

Irv Gotti says he’s going to drop Ashanti but, she already dropped him, long ago. Every since his trial, Ashanti has pretty much been on her own as far as music is concerned.
Wasn’t a hard decision cause Ashanti made it.

Ashanti will be starring in a very limited Manhattan stage engagement of the 1974, Tony winner The Wiz, reports Broadway World. Ashanti, 28, will mark her stage debut as the Dorothy in the soulful version of the The Wizard of Oz, which originally starred Stephanie Mills on Broadway and, in the 1978 movie, Diana Ross. This version runs June 12 to July 5 at the New York City Center, as part of the Encores! Summer Stars series.
Though she’s new to the New York stage, Ashanti is no stranger to the role. She played Dorothy in the 2005 TV movie, The Muppets’ Wizard of Oz.

Ashanti has a ritual that she follows to get ready for warmer weather. “I rearrange my closet,” she tells OK! as she slips in and out of a dazzling rainbow of fashions at NYC’s Bowery Hotel and its Gemma restaurant. “I love all of this season’s bright colors.” “I like showing off my body, but not overdoing it. Usually, a high-waisted jean will make the booty look right.”
