Snoop Dogg’s weekend went up in smoke after he was busted for being in possession of marijuana, according to reports.The 40-year-old rapper was arrested after a drug-sniffing dog alerted border patrol agents to a possible hit during a checkpoint stop in Sierra Blanca, a small town in West Texas.
The agents reportedly found half an ounce of weed wrapped in several joints inside a prescription bottle that was found in a trash can in the back of the bus.
Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., admitted the marijuana belonged to him, reports TMZ.
Though the rapper has a prescription for cannabis in California, law enforcement sources told the gossip site there is a zero tolerance policy for the illegal drug in Texas.
This isn’t the first time the cannabis-toting rapper has landed behind bars. He was busted for marijuana possession in 1998, 2001, twice in 2006 and 2007, among his numerous other arrests.
Snoop was issued a citation for misdemeanor drug possession and released. source
