
When I think of the goodness of Jesus…..now that song is older than Tyler Perry. So it’s definitely not his original material. Perry is accused of stealing the lyrics for his movie “Madea Goes to Jail,” according to a federal lawsuit. Tyler allegedly pirated an entire verse from “When I Think of the Goodness of Jesus,” written in 1950 by singer Bertha James. No credit or payment was made for the lyrics used in a monologue by Madea during a court proceeding in the film, the suit charges.
James’ estate is seeking unspecified damages for copyright infringement from Perry and Lionsgate Entertainment which distributes his films. Why do they try and get away with stuff like this. Faith Evans tried with I’ll fly away oh glory, I’ll……source
