Police are searching for a group of six teenage girls who brutally beat a 15-year-old girl inside a laundromat.
The attack was caught on surveillance video and showed four of the girls punching and slapping the teenager. The victim is doing okay but her entire family is shaken up. “This is nonsense. They beat my girl really bad,” Shante Howard, the victim’s mother, who spoke with Orlando station WFTV.
The attack began around 6:30pm Sunday night. In the video one of the suspects approaches the victim in green shorts as she folded laundry. Three other suspects show up. Words are exchanged and a girl in white pushes another girl into the victim and the melee begins.
An attendant at the laundromat calls 911 from across the store, but the gang continues its attack. A second girl throws a punch and loses her flip-flops in the process. A woman in pink appears to try and break up the fight but is unsuccessful. The primary attacker then twice slams the victim’s head into a row of industrial dryers. After about forty seconds two slightly older women walk into the store, say something that stops the fight and the entire gang races for the exit. By the time officers arrived at the laundromat, all the suspects were gone. Police say they have some leads and several names given by the victim. The victim’s mother thinks the girls are a part of a local gang. “They call themselves the ‘1-4 Goonettes’. Cops are called on them all the time,” she said. source
