Tameka Foster or Aisha Curry: Who do You Believe

tameka foster

Sooo a ridiculous rumor has emerged that the recent blog entry I wrote for the Huffington Post was plagiarized. Wow!! This is an unfounded insinuation that has no basis, merit or truth. I’ve never heard of this author or her book until Thursday afternoon. African-American women struggling with complexion issues is not a novel or an original topic. It’s an issue that has been written about for ages. Numerous African-American publications and online sites have addressed this topic. Even the Tyra Banks Show devoted an entire segment to it.

shared my personal story as a dark skinned woman in America, an experience that parallels millions of other Black women. Regrettably, this other author has no copyright (or patent) on the Black female experience. While I’m delighted to discover there is a new book with a similar theme available I only wish the author would have embraced our commonality as sisters in this struggle rather than opt for such a defamatory public recourse via a disreputable gossip writer. Approach is everything. Plagiarism is a serious implication that I’m extremely disheartened and insulted by. If this author can produce the same references in her book that I made to Alek Wek, poet Khalil Gibran, an experience in Brazil, disparaging public comments surrounding living as a “dark skinned” woman as well as scrutiny regarding her marriage to an R&B singer then perhaps she should seek legal counsel to handle this matter with the proper protocol.

Lastly I want to express my sincere gratitude to Maya Angelou, Toni Morrison, Alex Haley, Susan Taylor, Khalil Gibran, Langston Hughes, Frederick Douglass and Zora Neale Hurston, just a few renowned authors who have touched on this similar subject and who I have indeed read and been inspired by. source

I have the book by Aisha Curry – it’s amazing btw!!! You should be ashamed of yourself. As a mother of 5 boys – you should be real busy!!!!! I’m a mother of 5 boys and I can’t seem to find enough time during the day! You have time to Twitter, threaten bloggers – listen, marrying Usher has put your personal life out there, if you keep posting shit about yourself — bloggers will keep commenting especially when they see a 38/39 year old woman making an ass out of herself. Before Usher you were nobody…..after Usher …. Well you’re famous but for all the wrong reasons. Btw….. Don’t make it sound so terrible being a black woman….dark, light, mixed– whatever!!! Act your age girl and not your frickin’ shoe size – stop lying – you know very damn well that you are the one writing on the Internet and answering yourself – people can’t hide from their writing – if you write and speak a certain way…. It all shows!!! I just needed to come on here and say something cause you’re making us black folk look stupid! You got what you wanted a permanent meal ticket – I only say this because of a fraud case I heard about that was in connection to you. Look everyone knows what you’re all about…. Even us here in Canada!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A bientot!

Btw- I hope Ms. Curry sues your ass for everything you got because hard work is what put into her book for many years – plagerism takes nothing but a minute!!!! Her book was published – you cut & paste! What’s done in the dark girl….. Will always surface in the end!!!!!!!! Be truthful with yourself cause the rest of the world isn’t buying your lies…. Now I’m done commenting on your sorry life!!!! Ooops one more thing – modelling 101 when taking pics with celebs – don’t turn your body sideways and then rest your chin on your shoulder – you look like an alien when you do that – no one takes pics like that anyways…. Stand frickin’ straight- only DIVAS can pull that pose off and that you’re not…..
