Kelis and Nas just had a baby. The two are married but going through a divorce. Kelis is fighting for child support, prenatal expenses in addition to alimony. She claims Nas is the father. Little Miss. Milkshake wants him to be financially responsible but when it comes to the emotional part, the real part, being there to experience the birth of his son, she excluded him. She didn’t behave as the bigger person, the bigger parent. Instead, Kelis blocked Nas from the hospital room and the birth of his first son.
Just think of how emotional the birthing process is. Think if Kelis would have allowed Nas to participate. Nas heart might have softened, her heart might of softened. The bullsh$# between them may have, if only for a moment, ceased. Men bond with their boys and this could’ve been a perfect turning point.
But nooooooo, Kelis used the power she had to show how spiteful she could be. She showed that co-parenting and future custody issues of this innocent child is going to be a hostile and continuous battle. There is proof that he provided her with money and gift cards. Kelis never stopped making public appearances which meant she was still capable of providing for herself and earning money. Kelis decided to have a baby and she also made the decision to file for divorce. To now claim she’s at Nas’ mercy about bills and finances is a stretch because she made that choice. Didn’t she put herself in that boat?
Both parties need to grow up. Divorces are hard but when a child is involved people should put their baggage to the side. Girls really need to stop using their children as weapons. Fight Fair! Nas shouldn’t waste anytime with pursing whatever custodial relationship he wants with his son because she’s going to act like a ghetto bird. She already proved that.
