Given R. Kelly’s History what do we think of Artists that continue to work with him?
R. Kelly and The Dream finally did a remix together and The Dream should be ashamed of himself. The Dream, after all, has children. Pedophiles, child molesters, sexual predators cannot be rehabilitated. This is a proven fact. Convicted murderers can be rehabilitated and so can other criminals convicted of felonies but NOT sexual predators. R. Kelly slid past the system because he had high profile lawyers that he paid a lot of money in the process to achieve his freedom. That doesn’t remove the fact that he has a troubled history. If you are disgusting enough to look past that history, what does that say about you?
How does The Dream justify working with R. Kelly? By saying he was proven innocent? By saying she looked of age, she wanted it, or it wasn’t him. I never watched the tape. I felt that whether it was R. Kelly or not, everyone knew it was an underaged girl on the tape with him. I had no interest in watching a pedophile having sex with a kid. It used to disgust me that people thought it was okay just to prove that it was Robert Kelly on the video. Anyway, it was overwhelmingly agreed by all who watched
that it was R. Kelly performing on the tape. In a legal system, prosecutor’s had much more to prove which is why Kelly is free today. All of the trials and lawsuits had no impact on Mr. Kelly’s music. He didn’t grow or attempt to steer away from controversy. He instead, released songs about sex, stealing guys girlfriends in the club, music about girls on poles, strippers etc. I mean grow up why don’t you. R. Kelly is 42 years old but you can’t tell from his juvenile lyrics. Fu** a comeback from R. Kelly. Fu** listening to love songs where he compares a girls body to a damn jeep, chicken, poles or whatever his next idea is. I will never put money into his pocket again. And I will never support any record that any other sleazy artist may make with him. If you decide that working with him is worth it, you should be punished by the consumer with a dip in your album sales. As if music sales aren’t suffering enough. Ask yourself, is it worth it? People, parents, uncles, aunts, you have to stand for something, if not this, what?
