Of Course the President Deserves a Date Night!
President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama landed in New York early Saturday, May 30, 2009 for a dinner date in Manhattan and a Broadway play. The Obamas attended a performance of ‘Joe Turner’s Come and Gone’, the August Wilson drama that chronicles the struggles of African-Americans in the early 20th century. The talk around blog and tv land is, should Obama be going on a date? The answer, of course he should have! Barack Obama is not just the president, he is a man, a husband and a father. One of his priorities is to run this country and to fix all the mistakes of the Bush/Cheney era. That however, does not complete his list of priorities. What type of man do you want running this country? A miserable unhappy man, a tired, worn out man, a husband thats in the doghouse? He is the leader of this country and he has some advantages and disadvantages that come with the position. President Obama can’t have a date with his wife unless the whole press core is following. He has to have lights camera action on a private date with his wife not to mention parent activities at his daughter’s school. He can’t go for walks, haircuts, or even grab a burger without having his every move scrutinized (remember his condiment selection for the burger).
Yes, GM is going through a bankruptcy but President Obama didn’t bankrupt them. He is doing his best to resolve this mess but since when does the President of the United States not date because GM has an impending bankruptcy? We should be thanking God that he’s not quail hunting! Nobodies talking about the fact that this Broadway play, Joe Turner’s Come and Gone’ will have an increase in sales if not sold out all based on the fact that the President of the United States attended on Saturday May 3o. That’s an A+ night for Broadway….duh!
