This is a comment from Alexis it was in my email.......
I just wanted to leave a comment about the Republican article on Ronald Steele, I have to disagree with SSR&C on the comment "a party that has never respected or cared about the black vote". I love SSR&C all the way but I totally disagree with this statement as it is not true.

If you are speaking of recent history, then perhaps but historically, the Republican party was very open to the black vote and even was the first party to allow us to vote without retaliation, backed us up when the Dixiecrats known as Democrats now were lynching us and supporting the KKK, we were allowed a political newspaper and a voice.

Check out this link- http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2007/09/this-day-in-american-history-dems.html. I am no history buff, but my mother has been a Republican all my life, and although they have a lot of bs ways now, the party as a whole, has always included us when the Dems did not. Of course I Barack'd the vote this time around but I didn't change my party status and believe it or not, there are a LOT of Black Republicans but most of us agree with the fundamentals of the party and not the modern day stereotype. Isn't politics based on history?
