Barack Obama says they should have debate
Barack Obama is speaking and he has stated that he initiated the talks between he and McCain and he did so early this morning. McCain didn’t return his call until around 2:30 this afternoon. They agreed to release joint statements to show some solidarity about the economy. Their staffs were working together to release a joint statement from the Obama and McCain camp. McCain made this decision to suspend the campaign at the last minute for presidential politics. He said this is an American problem that requires an American solution. He was asked a question about the debate and is McCain making this political. He went through the timeline and said as far as the debate, this is exactly what the people of the USA need. The president will be in office in about 40 days. Obama says its more important than ever to have this debate. Obama said he’s spoken to the congressional leaders everyday this week including the Secretary. They both have planes and there is no reason to not do the debate. He will be there to help anytime they need him, however they need him.
